It's not often that someone shares.

From J-Walk's blog...(he does not address eCPM)

that's just too little $ to test anything. It might just be because he changed it. Whenever you change something the ctr will grow initially.

But I might try it, I always thought square corners should do better, although never tested.

No corners is better than square or round...I don't have data to prove it, but I've tried both and earnings are best with no borders and blended background.

yeah I don't use borders also.
But sometimes the background color is slightly different so it'll be noticable

His adsense is in the footer of his site....and he wants $60 per day from his single sidebar ad, no wonder it's not sold.

    WTF?!

I just looked his site up on http://www.dnscoop.com

    Here's his main address: http://j-walkblog.com

Just paste that into Dnscoop and it'll give you all his stats. Its not totally accurate but it gives you a good guestimate. It blows my mind. Why the hell is he getting so much traffic for that site. I mean really it has nothing really to speak of to offer!

Needless to say, if I were him I'd be monitizing the hell out of that site. Its obvious that he has no idea how to make money off a site.

Thank you for sharing. I think no borders is the best but I will give round corners a try!

The change itself did that, not the round corners.

4 year old site...60,000 pages...PR6...he deserves high traffic. Although you are right that he sucks at monetizing. ;)

Yeah, I've found that some of the most suddel changes, whether placement, colors, or format, seem to affect your earnings. Its just a matter of finding that right combination.

But depending on the site or blog, using borders work better than ads without borders. In many cases, if the ads were placed inside the text, it works a lot better without borders but in other cases, ads with borders work better I found.

    Joseph
