If you're using v3.7 you can use the ad_location_templates.

The best place is under the navbar, after the first post and in the header.

If you use welcome headers for guests, add some adsense in then and you will more than double your earnings.

If you use v3.6 it will be a bit different. Open the FORUMDISPLAY, FORUMHOME and SHOWTHREAD templates, search for $navbar and enter the code under that.

Go to your admin control panel and click Styles and Templates, from there select Style manager and then click edit templates and look for the Ad location templates. Then simply add the adsense code in their. You may need to set <DIV> tags to center some of the ads. If you need any more help then let me know and I can help you out.

The ad location templates suck. My adsense is color coded and ready. Anyone know the vB.org mod?

What type of ad(s) in the welcome header have yielded the best results? What about under the navbar?

    Thanks in advance.

The leaderboard works best in the welcome header, and under the navbar I'd recommend going with the ad links.

Under the Nav bar (usercp and other links) directly below, I used a <br /> and inserted text links, I then used a large leader board below the actual bar itself and also on the first post on every page. It will be a good idea to have

    forum post
    forum post
    adsense
    forum post
    forum post

Try pprune pilot network forums, they have gone all out with adverts - monetizing ration should be based also on traffic - if you are getting 40 hits a day, no point going for it.

I put a banner under my notices/welcome headers as well as a link bar inside the first post of a thread.

Prior to adding these, I already have ads in the footer of the site, on the login page, a banner (468x60) after the first post, a link bar above the Quick Reply box, a banner below the thread listing on FORUMDISPLAY, and a link bar above the thread listing on FORUMDISPLAY.

I will see what the two new ad placements bring me. :)

Also have you tried running kontera alongside Adsense? Your forum is receiving quite a bit of traffic correct? Then implement Kontera as well, and your earnings will be even more.

I personally hate Kontera ads; I can't stand sites that have 'em. My current stance is that I would never put that type of ad on my site.

What just one banner opposite the logo? I earn money I think since this is my thread when people click on the adverts - so the staff claim
