Photoshop help needed

Discussion in 'Photoshop' started by river, Jan 1, 2009.

    Hi,

I finished creating a logo for www.kewlr.com and noticed that the small text "its kewl" seems fuzzy. Is there a way to make small fonts in photoshop appear very crisp and clear? Is there a certain font which would work best?

Don't think that is a major problem. It looks pretty good to me.

The sans type fonts are cleaner.

I think it is looking "Alright" as is. If you have the text in photoshop you can change its Anti-alias to "Crisp" but I don't think it will make it look any clear.

Yeah, it looks alright to me.

But, if you really want to change it, just edit the text and where you see two A's right next to each other change that either "Smooth" or "Crisp".

Yeah, Smooth is like crisp. Just a little more bold if i remember correctly, I usually go with crisp for all my fonts

Yeah, so do I. But the font size he's using for " It's Kewl!" probably is too small to even see a difference between "smooth" and "crisp".

I would change the font and look for something that is a little wider, the letter spacing is your problem, think a bit about it, if you have a font that has larger letters and less height you could achieve a better quality. As for the text, press "T" or select the type tool and look for the None/Sharp/Strong/Smooth drop down menu from the top bar that appears when you have the type tool selected, it the last dropdown menu from the right. Good luck :)

MASSIVE kerning needed with the 'K' and 'ewlr' in the main type.

    It reads: K ewlr

    Tighten that up pretty-please!

Yeah the filter to use is sharpen or unsharp mask. But you will have to rasterize the type layer before u apply this filter.

Serif fonts that small never look good. You want a san-serif (without fancy bits)

looks better now that you're changed the typeface, but the kerning STILL desperately needs to be done.

    it still reads: K ewlr.com

Get rid of that space by kerning the letters closer please! I mean, you don't have to know all about typography to type a webpage - but to make a type-based logo you need to. At a minimum proper spacing would help.
