The starter of this topic claims he's been banned by AdSense..

Google doesn't tell people exactly which rule of the TOS was violated, based on all the "I got booted" topics it looks like the only reason Google ever gives is "invalid clicks".

If you suddenly start getting 10,000s or 100,000s more visitors than usual and these visitors barely convert then I think you've got a problem.

Like I said in my earlier post ... this strategy would work well on legit business sites with no adsense or cpc/ppc ads. :)

hi all.. i came across this site in a google search.

i have been using a similiar method to promote my site, and it's been working great. now,.. let me make this very clear.. im not just tricking people into posting any bulletins or visiting the site in any way.

my site provides entertaining content, which gives users the option to post it in a bulletin if they choose. nothing is done automatically EXCEPT for filling in the forms of the bulletin. the user then must submit, preview, and post the bulletin manually.(this should hold back anyone itching to yell SPAMMER at me ;) )

now.. i discovered today that Myspace has disabled the ability to prefill the bulletin and its hurting my traffic immensly. Some visitors will still copy the code and go to myspace manually to post a bulletin,.. but it is far fewer than before when they simply had to click a button.

Anyway... just wondering if anyone here has a workaround for this latest change.. or is working on one. I had a couple ideas earlier which havent panned out,.. but I have another in mind that I'll try after lunch.

If anyone can shed some light on this it would be much appreciated.

your assumption is correct. i generated over 1200 in adsense revenue with the help of viral bulletins(which provided content and did not trick anyone) and had no problems from google. ive even been in contact with them recently and they reviewed my site and the only fault they found was unrelated to the bulletin stuff.

It looks like myspace put the final nail in the coffin of this auto repost stuff yesterday. Now you need a hash code to even access the bulletin.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=bulletin.edit page

Yesterday I got 6,000 visitors and now I'm probably not going to crack 1,000. :(

i hit 0.5million on 14th from myspace bulletins, used up all my bandwidth, and earned on that day just under $4000 from adsense.
you should have really thought about it, the money isn't in the google ads, but the referals, i only made a few hundred dollars more from the ads, and its not worth the risk, as google can accuse you of invalid clicks!

advice, do NOT use google ads, they find the smallest excuse to stop paying you.

All myspace trains I have visited so far are broken.

I don't think that the automated bulletin code will ever work.

I think most myspace sites will simply die....

Oh well... back to real marketing again :)

All the trains are now "copy & paste" to send the bulletin. What sucks the most is that you can't even link to the page where they enter the bulletin (though I have an idea that on working on for that). We've gone from push this button to confirm to copy this text, push the button, go to the bulletin page, paste the text, push the button, confirm. Kinda crazy. I'm surprised that MySpace is that against outside sites composing bulletin messages. As long as they're going to allow bulletins to contain HTML and they have a largely non-technical audience the outside sites are actually helping.

I'm not giving up on MySpace resource sites - think there's still a need to fill and money to be made there. Just going to concentrate on non-bulletin dependant things for the time being.

And of course stopping the offsite composition of bulletins doesn't stop bulletin spam at all. Anyone can still amass a load of friends and manually send them bulletins. Neither is hard.

Each users hash is different, but it doesnt rehash the user each time, Each user has there own hash. figure out where the hash is coming from for each user and there will be no problems.

Actually i just found out how to help the myspace trains, Either ask for the person unusual bulletin code to join the train, Or figure out how they are changing for each user, and when they give the id number there may be a way to find out. do one or the other.
