I knew I should've kept shut about my earnings... now I feel totally inadequate... LOL j/k ;)

Clearly, as with anything in life, results will vary.

I have a new celeb site a humour one celebrityrip.com

I do not have adsense (banned) but clicksor.
However after being excited after finding this adsense alternative I soon became depressed again after nearly a week when my stats still said zero and I had over
hundred visits as you can see stats.

I think its time to change the adsense type thing like a tier payment more money for publisher for more visitors.

I have running 2 fansites. 200 and 1000-1500 uniques/day. 0,05-0,10 avarange is normal but the CTR is very good.

    My tips for fansites:
    - ringtones are good ads
    - don't only use adsense (ebay relevance ads / amazon is good too)

This morning by 11 am I've already made $12 with YPN on my main pages. So far I am on pace to make more than $60 today with YPN - more than I make with Adsense which is still on some of my pages.

CPM banners, most likely? Or maybe blogads, which are quite popular with celeb blogs/sites.

I had built over 60 fan sites years before adsense. I used them to get listed in DMOZ and then funnel the PR to my money sites.

On the celeb sites I run adsense on the ROI is pretty high. A site that costs $4/month to host makes me $40/month. I really don't dominate the serps for this particular celeb.

I do own the serps for about 5-6 celebrities. Sadly those sites only get between 200-400 visitors/day because the particular celebs are not well searched for.

However on one of these sites the traffic exploded to the tune of 40K visitors/day. I was making well over $100/day on that site. Otherwise it makes about $3/day.

However I would not recommend to anyone to waste time on celeb sites. You are far better to own a small piece of a large well paying niche than own the serps for some celebrity site.

I'm thinking about starting a celeb. pics site with celeb. front and side views and people can upload and vote for the most 'side ugly' sideugly.com

    eh? eh?

I run mainly geo Adult Friend Finder pics. (like this example from shooshtime, not my site) Also, I use AdBrite. Those two account for 80% of the money I make from my main traffic site.

I've always contend that running AdultFriendFinder ads in conjunction with Adsense on the same page must be in violation of Adsense's "no adult" policy. Can you tell us why you don't use Adsense on these pages, browntwn? Is it for this reason?

No, that is not the reason I don't run AdSense. When I built the site, I did not have adsense TOS in mind. So there is minor nudity throughout my site. Usually some screen cap from some actress movie or something. So the site, due to some nudity, is not acceptable for AdSense so I simply have never used it.

I would not run the two together, but I was told, by someone at DP, that you can run Passion ads with Adsense. Passion is a AFF related program, paid on the same check. So I have recently added some passion banners to a site with AdSense, but the banner is pretty tame.

Adsense is generally pretty low paying for this niche. I would be seeking out other ways to better monetize the traffic.

Okay, what's the secret to making a decent amount from a fan site? I have about 10 of them and I am lucky to make anything more than pocket change every month from Adsense. Please offer-up some tips.

Do those of you making $40-50 updated regularly or do you just upload the fan site and forget it? How about a forum? Do you include one of those?

Put up photos and write content centered around the following names:
Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Beyonce, Lindsay Lohan, Eva Longoria, J-Lo, etc. Update everyday with new content but use the same names. These are the celebrities at the top of the search lists.

This is what I do and I am averaging $50-$60 a day. Sometimes higher, sometimes lower.
