Anyone still use Myspace Bulletins?

Does it still get your traffic like it use to? Or it's just a not a factor anymore.

 

I've never used them for marketing, but I know form being on the receiving end of them, I tend to tune them out simply because people send so many of them. If you are going to try it, you'd probably get a better response by avoiding anything overtly promotional and just sending out something that piques the receiver's curiosity so that they check out your site.

Yea I thought, I just logged into my account with 13,000 friends and posted a few bulletins and didn't get any good results. IMO because they don't appear on the front user homepage anymore.

 

I still do it occasionally, but it doesn't work well for promotion. If I do something like "check out this thing in the forums" type of post, I get a lot of clicks, but for selling things, not so much.

 

I send one every once and awhile, and it gets me nothing.

 

same 10k account to waste. time to sell it i believe....

 

i can't tell the last time i used a bulletin on myspace for promotion.
but i do know if you embed like a link to your site in a myspace layout code then you'll get
a pretty good amount of visits from it.

 

There's too many people on myspace... The margins are too low.

 

How do you monetize myspace, do you send out bulletins or use profile? For myspace, let's say you have a CPA offer, how do you best present this offer for sale. Do you send out bulletins? Or increase the number of friends you have and post the cpa offer in your profile? How does it work?

 

No man that doesn't really work out no more you should go to facebook and do some networking there because myspace has just kind lost some of its popularity for marketing and everything you know so go to facebook and start out there have a great day

Myspace has cut out all the spam for the most part now and there systems are smarter. They have also set up there website in a way now that spamming does not benefit the spammer in any way which is the best way to stop them.

 

I do sometimes. i have 1ooo or so friends and it only takes a second to do.

Do I get a lot of sales from it? No, not really.

From my experience (Since I run Beer Music) I still find success with myspace... and just from using it for years now, the only true businesses that do well via myspace are those that target the 13-25 age group... even though in reality it's more like 16-18 y.o.

Myspace bulletins are more for finding out gossip, or some lame joke. Overall, avoid bulletins... and moreover, seldomly use myspace in general. I'd stick with some other network.

 

Yeah 90% of spam accounts and trains still hang out there, then there's there's the 5% of eWhores and finally 4% of actual users .... ohhh I forgot there's still 1% of celeb's who have social site workers - they simply hire someone to do some public relations on their behalf and that includes MySpace and facebook.

 

I started to use Myspace recently as one of those 4%. I'm finding that I'm getting a LOT of people as friends through the apps they offer, and while I'm just goofing off there, it is kind of fun as a diversion from real life (and other aspects of the web).

I have yet to actually promote anything there though... however may start, as my friends are increasing daily (2-5 new ones every morning when I check, most through the use of apps).

If I pushed something to them though, it's unlikely that I'd get much of a return though, as most app friends are in it for the app rather then to see what you really have to say.

With this age group would you use bulk messages instead of myspace bulletins? It sounds like that's what people are finding works?
