I'm guessing Dusty means the surface of the lobe, or maybe he knows guys with small ears. Either way it provides a valuable lesson why you dont go to a Tats & Piercing parlor run by Ubangi tribesmen.

Here's a 2002 canoe trip pic that I notice is on the front of our groups website. Camera guy was sitting on a rock called "Big Mother" in the middle of the Cascades of Extinction on the Big Piney. I was digging to turn the boat OFF mother in the pic, as rolling the boat under it is the other option from there.



Another joy of that run, you can shoot the rapid clean but fail to turn at the bottom, in which case you go head on into Mother below. The fact that I was still in the boat with a paddle in hand was a good sign at that point. [I've done it the other way too.]

Here's a couple of our guys that just barely made it thru... boat is in semi-submarine mode, and neither has a paddle. I'm guessing they swam right after this. The assistance from the rest of our crew would traditionally at this point include taking pictures as they drown and stealing their beer.



Last... the official portrait in river gear. The spandex sleeves of the shortie wetsuit make good cigar holders, an important feature.

Actually it was a little cool today, i think it was in the high 60's

I know that's not so cool is it I actually love the winter here, temperature is always pretty decent and no rain whatsoever

 

Pfft... I think it hit 13 today.

Last Thursday was a bit warmer. It got all the way up to 30 and I was outside in just my hoodie with no coat on.

 

Here I am.. I love to fly and skydive.. Just not at the same time..

Awesome! Skydiving is on my to-do list. Ive bungee jumped, para-sailed,went white water rafting, horse back riding, shot a fully auto weapon, got married, yeah i love some excitement!

 

Got married? That is the scariest thing you could have done!!

Actually, I have BASE jumping on my things to do.. I just hate losing my stomach. It doesn't happen while skydiving because you're already moving with the aircraft and you just exit..In BASE jumping, you accelerate and that's what causes the stomach feeling that you probably felt during your bungee jumping (something I am scared to do).. I rather skydive

Thats awesome, I wanna skydive some day if I ever get the chance. Did you ever have someone tied to your back when you skydive or did you train to do it on your own from the start? Id probably be to scared to do it on my own, "pull the light blue cord not the blue cord" id pull red one lol

 

I wanna sky dive too... I've recently done some high rope courses and rock climbing without breaking a sweat... but I'd be horridly scared of base jumping

 

I had 6 hours of ground training before I went up with two instructors.
