Just go to uni like I have and study web development. Then at least you can prove you are the clever internet tech kid you are. Otherwise you'll just be like I sounded - the teenager who is good with computers.

I saw some of the photos of the snow in London. Hard to believe something so stupid can bring an entire country to it's knees. I guess thats the price we pay for being run by incompetent fools.

random question, is anyone here registered as self employed? Sole Trader or LTD?

I was going to mention earlier but thought i best not, but i have found the last few days kinda funny how the exageration that is put across regarding the weather really makes it sound like it was something big.

Its was a moderate amount of snow and all of a sudden everything is grinding to a halt, saying that this is the same country that says that the wrong type of snow or leaves on the train tracks mean the trains cant run.

I remember back in 90 or 91 i think we had proper snow where it was at least a foot deep and people coped.

In canada they cope good, they still get to work, they have extremes in temperatures too.

I could understand if we were a country that never got cold weather, i mean if jamaica got some snow and couldn't cope it would be understandable. :)

Pipes, I'll tell you why it's been so hyped - London.

The whole country has to listen to everything in much more detail and extravagance when something happens in London. Most of the countries media/TV/newspapers are based there.

So when London gets snow, we all hear how awful and terrible it was for the poor londoners and their heavily affected transport system...

Ive not seen any news really for about 3 weeks so wasn't aware of london actually getting that amount, all i knew was that the south was expecting the worst at first.

I agree, no offence to londoners, i know its the media to blame, they hype hype hype.

I think thats why when americans refer to the uk they nearly always mention london, like theres nothing outside it :) no offence to londoners again or americans. :)

Actually for me local transport was badly affected. I live near a major bus route, reguarly used both ways, as a popular college is on the route, as well as transporting a lot of people to the city centre. The buses are driving around the majority of it at 5mph because the council aern't gritting the roads untill 10 or 11am. When most of the heavy usage of the buses is done.

In my view, the authorities knew this was coming and should have been a lot better prepared.

Never got any either. It makes me laugh when half the news tonight was about the weather. Even better was when I heard the underground in London was shut, WTF, surely there'd be no problems with snow underground?

Bunch of southern softies, doubt there'd be as much media attention if somewhere up North was hit with all the snow and London didn't get any.
