    The traffic is very un-targeted though. You every hardly see anyone go on any other page of your site apart from the page that they clickthru to and that is normally it.

    The only good thing this is for is to boost your alexa ranking and to get one way links pointing to your site.

    How can it be untargeted when they go to your website because they are interested in reading more after reading the snippet on Digg?

    I know what you probably mean but 'untargeted' isn't the right word.

    It's not 'sticky' and they don't 'spread' easily. They're like the SAS. In and out in a few seconds.

    They're a special breed... I think you need to plan ahead and have ready one other feature you can catch their interest with. Then use referrer checking to get their attention:

    if ($ref == "digg.com") {
    echo 'Hey Diggers! If you like this, check out this other tool/article!';
    }

    Or offer them 10% off on whatever you offer based on referrer.

    That is what I was a meant to say something like you. They just go and read the article and that is it. They then go onto the next digg news articles site and read that and so on. They never every hardly stay at your site.

    I have tried articles on digg and find that they only go on the one page that has the article on and that is it.

    I have even submitted a few games now as they have a new "up and coming online games" category and even that doesn't give any more pageviews. They play the game and that is it. I know they play the game as I have a page with the game information then you have to click thru to the actual game to play it.

    They go on the first page and then they clickthru to play the game and then leave. They don't bother playing any other games as far as I know so far.

    Yeah...

    digg is a good social networking site, and stories that get dug 40 time get promoted to the front page, which in a way means big amounts of traffic!

    But remember to not to treat digg only as a traffic generating site !

    Get into it, go over stories daily, and you will develop a liking for it not to mention the immense info, you get through social networking. Besides, you would also be updated regularly with THE latest news from fellow diggers.. Remember, they pride on their selection…

    So if they feel that you cross the line, the guys/ readers or the regular diggers, will flag you.

    A closing line, don’t overdo it and get knocked off for spamming - but try and be a part of the community first, like you are here.

    Now that the advise is over.... check out my stories

    Bye for now

    Any guesses on who will be the semi-finalists ??
