Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

I have it set up so by default it displays a block of google ads under the left navigation. If you're using IE with Windows XP, it has a Firefox adsense referral.

Below that is an adsense referral. It would be awesome if someone actually signed up with it and I got my $100 :D

The next place adsense shows up are in the tutorials themselves. They're mixed with the tutorial text and match the background and look like links, so I'm hoping people will click on them.

Any other advice would be great. let me know what you think. Also, I'm still building content for the site, so it'll be bigger as time goes on.

Your ads are ok. They stick out a little when you get to the tutorials. Trouble is, if your tutorials are good, which they appear to be, people will skim over your ads to read the whole tutorial.

If they tutorial answers their question(s), they would most likely close their browser afterwards, or go back to Google or their search engine (assuming they came to your site that way).

Just a thought. Not quite sure how you would go about fixing that. Maybe you need to move one of the ad blocks to the end of the tutorial?

hmm, perhaps I should put one at the very end. The only trouble is that I'm running into the 3 blocks of adsense limit. I guess I could put one of the other kinds in there to see if that works.

First of all, you need to change the label/text above the referral button. Google's TOS apply to ads AND referrals. Here's the exact wording from their Program Policies:
    Labeling Ads
Publishers may not label the ads with text other than "sponsored links" or "advertisements." This includes any text directly above our ads that could be confused with, or attempt to be associated with Google ads.

Secondly, I would add some more content on your homepage, and then change the ad unit in your sidebar to a 120 or 160 x 600.

Lastly, change the ads in your tutorials to a blended medium rectangle and remove the "Advertise on this Site" link. Make sure these ad units are set to only display text.

I didn't know there was an option to remove the "Advertise on this Site" link displaying on the google ads. I will have to check the adsense setup to try and find it.

As for labeling ads, could I put the text below it?

I don't know, you're kind of getting into risky territory there. It really just comes down to whether or not you are willing to risk getting your AdSense account terminated.
