Firefox is good and I only use it because of its security. If IE was not so vulnerable and everyone did not try to hack it, I would use IE since I find it loads pages a little faster than Firefox - could be the settings, I do not know. However, Firefox 3 still has some major bugs, especially when installed on Vista. It does not release memory resources properly when closed and also sometimes it just freezes even though my machine never freezes with other apps.

    Idiot.
Watch for Chrome showing up, pre-installed, on new computers this year.

Firefox is fine but they have kitchen sink-itis.

They try to throw in every conceivable feature whether you want it or not.

Internet Explorer keeps changing their interface regardless of how the user feels.

Personally, I think the best browser is the one you control.

Microsoft and Firefox use their browsers to make money. Why not use your own, if you can?

Since Firefox writes their license agreement to basically stifle competition, put me down on the side of Trident (Microsoft).

But unfortunately, there is a new and positively reviewed browser.. The Safari 4 which means it could be the end of Firefox.

I cannot believe there is a 20 page thread devoted to the question of whether Firefox is "the best".

I cannot believe I've wasted my time posting in it, either...

Firefox is the webmasters browser IMO. With all the addons, what else could a webmaster need?

IE isn't all that bad, it's just that FireFox is better.

Say what? You can take their Firefox code and create your own (Flock, K-Meleon and others). How is that stifling competition? Yet here you are coming down on the side of Microsoft who would be first in line to sue you if you tried the same thing (and you can't get their code in the first place).

Personally, I use Google Chrome as my main browser. Its fast and intuitive, and its compatability seems excellent for a new browser. I also have Firefox as a backup browser, but as I don't have much need for browser customisation, I tend to stick with Chrome.

It certainly can parse XHTML properly, unlike Internet Explorer.
