Can you restore a photoshop file?

I needed to flatten an image, but seemed to have saved the image flattened and closed the application. Is there anyway to get the layers back?

    Thanks for the help.

seems to do nothing, remember this file was saved and closed. Does photoshop store any type of history after closing?

I think intrinzik was fooling around since ctrl+E is the command to merge layers.

My answer: you're screwed :p there's no way to unflatten a file and Photoshop doesn't have a backup file feature (at least, versions CS and below don't).

I have PS7. Not a designer so I dont know much about the application other than layer positioning and cutting up images.

Post the image or PM me, and what you want to accomplish with it, and maybe there's a way to salvage what you want to salvage. You can't restore the layers, but depending on what you want to accomplish, you maybe able to accomplish it.
