Where To Go From Here?

I have my Myspace website http://www.layoutsandmore.net

I don't really know what to do from here. My daily earnings are only about $1 now. How can I drive visitors to my website? CTR is around 5% (not exactly 5%), so I'm happy with that. I bought a bunch of directory submissions and text links so I could get a decent Y!/G ranking for 'Myspace Layouts'

However, I don't know when I'll see my SERP change. So what can I do from here?

Sometimes you just have to accept that your site has hit its pinnacle within a certain niche and move on to something else. I don't know about Myspace sites, but from what I've gleaned, the competition is fierce.

There's a few things you can do, I tried checking your MySpace profile, but it's set to private.

First I would try to crank up my # of friends in MySpace. Join a few trains, add whomever you can find, comment on famous people's MySpace's, and market, market, market yourself in that MySpace world there. Then send out a bulletin to all of your friends offering your site with cool MySpace stuff.

Use the mySpace video upload tool to upload a few good videos and put your link in the desc. of the video desc.. I've found it's amazing how many people watch those vids and the URL's look like myspace URL's so they get decent traffic if placed correctly. I found this works for some of our video related sites and our myspace resource site quite well. Oh and yeah, trade links with other MySpace website owners (PM me and I'd be happy to trade links).

    yeah, definitely agree.
and i also agree with the 'post comments on famous peoples profiles' that someone above me said, that definitely worked for me.

Just make sure they are relevant, you don't want to get labeled as a comment spammer.

This exact adsense layout was discussed on SitePoint a few weeks ago.
    http:// www. sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=393901
(remove the spaces, it won't let me post links)

It evidently involved a site called MySpaceScriptz.com (which looks nearly identical to your site). I'm absolutely not claiming you ripped the other site, since I couldn't know (perhaps you own both sites, or the layout is some free template, or he ripped you... the Whois data is different, one is masked).

Though either way, the discussion at SitePoint settled on that the adsense implementation was against Google's TOS. Since then the other site in question has switched to Yahoo ads, and differentiated them from the other spots so they are less blended. Someone (not the site owner) there also said "I received an email from google adsense, they do not allow this kind of ad blending."

Anyhow, only way to know for sure is to email Google about it yourself. Better to find out now then to lose your earnings or worse, get banned at the end of the month.

The script is a $150 script bought from Greg-J. He actually posted a fix to change the BG of the Myspace ads, so they don't blend in so much.

Good choice. Ringtones and myspace are two of the worst possible topics to make a website about. There's a huge amount of competition... and, man, isn't it just boring?

Do something original and it will pay off.
