The 777 site you are referring to is dreamhost.com. I run all of my sites on their servers and they are one of the best. Unfortunetly the offer you mentioned expired like a year ago (lol). I know they have another one, not as good, but it's their best right now. I highly recommend them, and it's proabably the best bang for your buck, a lot of people can back me up on this. I think current code is "THEBESTRIGHTNOW", it's like $50 off the price I think, it's been awhile since I used it. Let me know if that works.

And yes, you should buy a domain. And also, be wary of crappy, hosts and domain registrar's. They might be cheap but chances are they are run by 12 years olds out of their basements. You dont want that.

lol well, I actually did find out that it was indeed dreamhost. I tried their offer thing out yesterday to see if 777 still worked, and it did. That would mean I could get the first year for $10. Then I realized that every year after that I would be paying about $100 for hosting. I hadn't thought about the years after the initial one lol. So I'm trying to look for another host at the moment.

I think after this thread and talking to some other people that I will definitley be getting a domain name. I am currently redoing my site and I think once I'm finished I will get a domain name and I'll go from there! Thanks everyone =)

In a year you should be making enough to cover the hosting costs. ;)

A business without a name is just fooling around. I do not think anyone would do that.

Yes, if you are serious about a business on the web, you need your own identity and your own domain name. Besides it gives you the flexibility to upgrade as and when needed. With a subdomain, you are trapped with the current provider and besides you are seen as being part of that host and not your own identity.

Do you know what else could work? Just get a domain and forward it to your current domain or there are shorter domains available for free on the internet (some links at: www. freedomains.notlong.com)

If you were offering services such as website design, it's necessary to have a .com to be successful (IMO, there are exceptions) because clients will trust you more? (It's weird, but that's from my experience). It makes you look more professional.

Anyways, you do not necessarily need a domain to be more successful (with earning $$ through adsense). Try submitting your current URL to more directories to get more traffic. (More links = higher page rank in google) Here are links to 382 free directories you can submit to:

hey thanks for the submit thing. I'll definitley bookmark that and come back to it. And like I said earlier, after making this topic it is pretty clear that I need to get a domain name. I think once I'm done with my layout I will start looking more at my options, right now I'm focused on making my site as flawless as can be. Thanks for letting me know my options everyone =)
