How to go about selling a website?

Im fairly new to internet marketing and dont have many sites but its always been a question i cant aswer myself. i know i could collect the money via paypal but how do you put it in there name?, can you sell a free website (thats curently what im trying to do in another forum, am i going to get in trouble) Would you have to go and change all my affiliate ids to theres or would i just give them name and pass and they do that thems selfs? or is there any other information a person should know when selling a website?

 

They need the domain registration to be transfered to their name and account and then you would need to give them the website files.

well i have a free website that makes a little money but i stoped promoting it becuase the fact free websites suck, but i wanted to sell it, i posted it on here but the moderator deleted it, so i dont think you can sell a free site. i dont see why not it makes money you should be able to sell it.

 

i think he means free website liks www.mywebsite.tk hosted at like free webhosting or something...

I think if the content is good then i think you may be able to sell it...

 

moderator deleted his sale thread just cos' it was free site? i don't think that happens in DP I see many guys selling myspace accounts and what not!

 

i thought it got deleted, another guy on a diff forum told me i couldnt sell a free site, the free site i was selling was actualy a reasanable deal, it actualy made money, and it is a pr4

yes thats exactly what i mean, a site hosted on a free server like lycos.com. i made my first affiliate site on a free server it made about 300$ over a 6 month period with little permotion and i dont realy want i plan to do a better version of it on paid host, but i thought i could sell it for a couple 100 or what ever i could get out of it.

I think it might be tough to sell as the host could delete your site without warning... technically they own the space and not you

 

so you mean only hosting is free, and the domain is regular not free like .tk or whatever.subdomain.com
So it does not matter if its free hosting or not, since the buyer usually will host on his own hosting anyway..

 

cj1223, Good you started with free account, now start paid/normal website and can do same.

 

ya i had to make sure affiliate marketing wasnt a scam, any ways i do pay 10$ for unlimited websites. i was just trying to make a quik buck off a site im not ever going to do anything with i guesse i will be getting a little cash here and there off of it for the rest of my life or entil the delete it.
