We switched from FreeBSD to CentOS.

I am not happy about the move, but I will be happy if the reliability issues disappear.

 

What made you go away from that lovely OS FreeBSD ?

if summer come,what happen to tech-faq ? are we still have 1K UV/day in every submit proxy ?

Troubles we just could not fix in the TCP stack.

I think that the number of proxies submitted in the Summer will fall, in step with the fall in the number of proxy visitors. This should hopefully keep the number of unique visitors per proxy relatively steady.

Lately I have been buying proxy lists and 301 redirecting them to The Tech FAQ Proxy List. I have also redirected a few that I've owned for some time.

XGXI, ProxyBucket, MegaProxyList, EpicProxies, GetProxys, and FreeWebProxies.cn have all been sacrificed on the altar of The Tech-FAQ.

Plus, the proxy list is now getting people traffic via the email list, the RSS feed, the Twitter profile, and the JavaScript list. That traffic, unfortunately, doesn't get counted in the numbers displayed on the web page.

I have also revised my search engine strategy and built some very high-quality links. That has increased the traffic we're receiving from the search engines, and I expect further increases as we continue to pursue this new strategy.

Recently I also SEOed few of my proxies and proxy lists and without working much on link building but just from on-site SEO i was getting good results on relatively new proxies and proxy lists and seems like google have now penalized them

unblocking.biz was ranking on 1st page for the most major keywords of proxies and was getting about 1000-1500 visitors a day within 3months of its start and now it ranks nowhere. and there are almost 15-20 more like that. Don't know what google is upto

 

It sounds like they didn't approve of your SEO techniques.

That's happened to me a few dozen times.

You can file Reconsideration Requests, but those are almost never read or acted upon.

Pretty much you have to register a new domain and start over.

 

Same thing happened to me too for 8 proxies.But i think it was about using the same content on all 8 proxies.

 

yeah i did file reconsideration request but no response since its been over a month now. I will ensure this time it takes little more time to get good SERP's instead of getting on first page within 2weeks so that it doesnt looks like blackhat to them

all my sites use different content which is manually written by me and all use different templates too.

 

Hey guys, testing the water here...
Would anyone be interested in a new proxy script? I am learning a new lang and can dedicate a month or two to make a proxy script... the lang is ocaml (which is made for speed... like as fast as C (which is FAST)) so the advantage is pretty obvious.
Anyways, just wondering if anyone would be interested.

Well I'm working on getting GuardTunnel.com on the first page for 'Unblock MySpace', hopefully it won't get banned from Google as you guys are talking about. It seems to have great original content and a template, don't see why it should be banned.

 

I suppose everyone here would be interested in it including me
just ensure that it allows to be used for the most major sites alike facebook, youtube, bebo, myspace, orkut

I can not access the tech-faq.
so I use a proxy.
but when I want to pay using paypal to submit a proxy in the tech-faq, access denied. because paypal can not be accessed using a proxy

how do I submit a proxy to be able to tech faq?
Can someone help me with this problem

you can never predict what google may do.
I din't do any linkbuilding and just did some on-site SEO for few sites so obviousely there can't be any chance of doing it "blackhat" but still those sites were banned.

 

The proper step is to post in the Tech FAQ Proxy List Support Forum.
