Any Simple CMS?

Hey guys, I am looking for a recommendation for a very simple cms.

Joomla, Wordpress and the others are just too complex, too many options, etc. I just need something simple.

This is what I need

seo friendly urls

 

Seriously if you cant figure out wordpress there is not much left for you.

 

Wordpress is by far the easiest CMS out there. Use something like coffeecup visual site designer or go to template monster and create a html site.

MODx is great and it's free. I was working on it for a long time until I had developed my own one.

 

That depends on the kind of website that you want to build. Simple CMS systems may need a lot of work from your part. With well known CMS systems, you can do everything with a few mouse clicks and entering content. A lot of plugins nd templates are usually available with popular CMS systems. You can try ez publish.

 

It wont get any simpler than wordpress.

 

Yes Wordpress is pretty easy once you get to know it. You do have to take the time to read the Docs to understand setting it up.

I've used CMS Made Simple http://www.cmsmadesimple.org/ and it's okay but not as "simple" as wordpress.

The bigger problem you'll find is that once you do catch on WordPress has so many valuable and useful free plug ins.

Expression Engine http://expressionengine.com/ is a good easy to use CMS but it is not open source.

Take a look at The Clesto CMS. It might be just what you are looking for.

 

I have tested Drupal and Joomla and they really are bit complicated. I have two sites running with CMSMS (CMS Made Simple). That is really simple CMS, but not that simple as WordPress which is right next to pen and paper.

My vote goes for CMS Made Simple

 

When I was looking for a simple cms I settle on etomite I still use it for my homepage. We really need to know what you mean by simple though, What do you want to be simple and how much do you want it to do.

 

It depends on your needs but wordpress is the easiest around.

If you are looking for basic editing functionality, maybe you should consider a custom-built CMS.

I have clients that have simple needs and have basic brochure style websites that they want to be able to edit. For this, a simple custom-built CMS will do the trick. There are a number of tutorials online that can help get you in the right direction.

If your client has more advanced needs, I'd suggest sticking with one of the other CMS options (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla) but look at making some modifications to the admin in order to avoid any unnecessary confusion.
