With most royalty free items - such as music, videos and images - you have to give credit to the original author. It also depends on what the owners meaning of "royalty free" is. Some want you to pay if you are using the items of commercial purposes. Some just want a link to their site regardless of what you use it for.

You should read the terms and conditions that the owner of the image has stated on their website. They own the image, they get to make the rules.

But my answer would be no, you can not remove the logo or watermark and reuse the image.

royalty free means you have to pay them one time.

    example
you buy a photo, pay them one time while buying.
use it forever on your site.

if it is for print say t-shirt, mugs, newspaper
you pay them after every 5000 items sold or what ever their rules.

royalty free doesnot mean free, it only means you dont have to pay royalty but you have to pay their one time buying price for internet sites.

That is not 100% correct. There is a lot of royalty free products out there you can use for free. The author just ask that you provide a link to their site and give them credit.

This is NOT my page, nor am I associated with this person, but here is an example of royalty free products.

Before you use anything that is "royalty free" you should check the license that the owner of the item has posted. Every owner will have a different license.

I've removed a watermark to show a client how a pic would look on the website and he went ahead and used it - even though you could tell it had been doctored. Well, if anyone finds out I hope it's the client that gets into trouble!

Stock photos are so cheap nowadays that I am sure you will find it worthwhile just buying one so you know you can legally use it and it is of high quality. hxu have free photos but you need to check each agreement as they differ, but say if you go to s site like stockxpress it costs you next to nothing for very good quality images.

It is only royalty free if you pay (then they remove the watermark as well). The watermark is in place to prevent people from illegally using the photo.

Its royalty free if you pay or should I say you have to pay once to buy a license but usage have limitations, read the terms.

And you don't need to remove any watermark cause the one you will buy for sure have no watermark.
