Why are Chinese goods so cheap? ★★★

Cheap labor and sub standard quality makes Chinese goods available at throw away prices. I read a report in newspapers recently that substandard Chinese goods were marked "made in India" just to spoil the name of Indian goods.

 

Becouse in China 10$ is a lot of $$$
Cheap labour => cheap products

 

Main reason is low cost labour and they use cheap stuff for manufacturing products....

why Indonesia sux ?
first GOV lazy, corrupt and greedy.
why ? we hold Business visa, we need to pay under table money to enter Indonesia, if we don't pay, everything search include my underwear.
I bought a car there, but the car stay in my house for less then 1 month for one year period, where did my car go ? please visit, General House, GOV official n bla bla bla house ...

DO you believe i NEED TO PAY TO ENTER my own house in Indonesia ?
Yes a group of rubbish will park their bike and chit chat in my front door, when we request them move, we need to pay.

Honestly, they don't work, they wish money drop from the sky ...
But i pay full respect to Indonesia woman, they work hard to feed the family including the husband + second/third/fourth wife ...

 

I deal business with china manufacture too, the reason of low quality just because the purchaser request, you pay peanut you get monkey ....

Don't forget most of you branded good is make from China with quality cause they willing to pay ....
The brand i dealing with in CHina : Philips, Osram, Hella, GE this are quality product from china

China business man is simple, they can offer anything for any prices, your call for the quality .......

yah it happen to every third world or developing country, but root problem who start business there and why ?
Who ? American, British and European giant.
Why ? cheap labor, cost saving, MAXIMUM profit (main reason) and not eco green to watch out...
But once they grow (revolution), they blame them for low quality product, low cost, inhumanity and bla bla ....

Sub-standard products, where those SUB-STANDARD product from? those are WASTE/Garbage from European Giant company, that (petroleum base product) suppose to be waste or recycle to raw material but they choose to sell/give it away due to disposable cost is higher then selling or give away ....

That will be no surprise when u buy cheap sub standard brand LCD/TFT screen from china but inner component make by Sony, GE, Sharp, Philips and bla bla, This is how European (giant) recycle work in china ....

 

There are so many companies from other country have been investing in Indonesia for a long time and they are so happy. Many companies achieve award here. PT. Unilever Indonesia, Tbk achieve TPM Award for several times in Japan. At 1976 Lakshmi Mittal started his business in Surabaya, Indonesia, he has several companies here now and he invested his money again last year.
I'm sorry guys. Maybe at first time your business, you've met wrong persons to be your partner.
But I agree with you about our government. We always hope we will have good and clean government.
Most of us work, my friend. Many of us usually wake up at 4:00 AM, and after we pray to God we go to office everyday include saturday and sunday.
Are we lazy? absolutely not. Many of us are harder and smarter worker. Our students usually win at international competitions. One of our young entrepreneur has won the 2006 International Young Creative Entrepreneur of the Year - Music Award in the UK held by British Council.
Maybe I am a lucky man. I work every day to feed my beautiful wife and our children. Until now, at 55 years old my father works everyday too to feed my mother. I have met men whose have 2, 3, or 4 wives but they always work to feed their families. I never met women like you said above, but I can't deny it because I've heard many stories like that. But they don't feed their their husbands. Their husbands also work too. The women just try to help their husband to get more income for their families. Don't you know many of us just earn $1-3/day for 8-12 hours working? I think you have known that.

For TS, I am sorry for this OOT. I don't want others have negative opinions about Indonesia. We try to learn, study, and develop ourselves to be successful women/men.

Yes, this one is VERY important. Actually, the Japanese went the same way - the yen was undervalued for a long long time, thus enabling them to conquer world markets with their mostly not-so-high quality products at the time.. (just like the Chinese do today..)

 

the Japanese still have an edge in many electronic items, automobiles etc.

slowly, but steadily China is improving its product quality too.

more than the quality, it is cheap labour, undervalued currency and government support that makes Chinese goods cheap.

a factory worker in China lives under totally different conditions compared to a factory worker in the west.

when people are willing to accept less for their work, costs go down.

the government is also a big factor in bringing down costs for companies...many times in an unfair manner.

-direct subsidies
-export incentives
-cheap access to land and raw materials
-protection from strict quality, environmental, intellectual property and labour laws etc
