A friend of someone that goes to our church just got kicked in the face by a horse...that has to SERIOUSLY put a damper on the fun for that day :-(

The horse guy, I guess he got kicked in the one place it wouldn't have killed him!

 

I can attest that there's a lotta places that don't kill ya, just not many that don't make you wish it had. The ribs comes to mind... last shot I took there took me 6 months to be able to breathe without pain.

 

What happens if you get kicked in the nuts? any experience with that?

I once got hit by a ball in my nuts, but the hit was very very minor so i just stood still for a minute or so and was fine... But i was once hit on the inside of my left knee, couldn't walk for a week

 

Hell if things don't work out where I am at now, I could become a DP moderator. Lord knows I could use the time off.

 

Been fortunate on that score, never got kicked there. Had a horse do a backflip once and I thought the saddle horn was gonna take off somethin on impact... but fortunately it missed and got my leg. A bruised leg I can live with.

 

Rib injuries are very painful from what I gather.
so do they have a nickname for you on the circuit, like crash test dummy

Hell yeah. Infractions are way down... My guess is some mods are spending more time choking down Big Macs and writing haku's rather than slapping the shit out of key contributors to the past success of DP.

 

"The circuit" doesnt know me from Adam cause I just sponsor a rider (and writing checks isnt especially dangerous unless I let my wife do it). My injuries have generally happened when trail riding, and usually are caused by me doing something risky (aka: dumb) rather than by a horse being bad.

 

The stuff you do, is it fun?

 

Matter of perspective I guess. In my opinion a bad day on a horse beats a good day doing just about anything else.
