You can drag and drop layers between Photoshop documents.

Just open both documents, left click on the layer you want to copy, and drag it into the destination document.

Right click on text layer and click "duplicate" in context menu.

Do you want to copy the layer to ANOTHER document? Or to the current document?

If you want to copy the layer to the current document, then do what Neonic said.

If not, then we're going to need a translator.

If I understand correctly , you can open ,say, 10 files into photoshop and drag that text into each of these documents.

If you want to copy the text into the same document, then you duplicate it or use the shortcut CTRL+J .

well i got your problem and the solution for it is Automation Script in Photoshop. You have to record a New Action for Paste and Move, and run the Batch Processing on the desired folder.
For reference please check http : //graphicssoft.about. com/od/digitalphotography/l/blps_batch.htm

Automation Script is the best solution, if you maje them one by one would take too much time :) so follow adwall adivce. It's a good one!

Let me give my idea use it if its helpful.
You want to make the effect-watermark right?
Create the effect watermark and hide the background of the water marked text.
    Select whole document (Ctr+A)
    Select copy merged (Ctr+Shift+C)
Past it on the JPEG what you want.
You can make this repetitive work as Action as one of dp friend explained above.

I hope you will find it useful. email me or add me to IM if you need live help.

CTRL+J for duplicating, then drag it to your other document ;)
You could also use a watermarking program!
