    Thanks in advance everyone.

Let me first begin by stating that I am doing things a little different.
I have two blogs that I use in tandem and I was hoping I could get some idea and tips on how I could get things running a little more efficiently.

My “system” works in the following manner: I created an edu travel blog a little less than two weeks ago which is receiving quite a bit of traffic already as it has already ranked on the first page for several keywords. Since its an educational blog, it would not be prudent to place ads and risk having my blog terminated...so what I did was create a separate identical blog elsewhere and add the adsense ad there. So basically the edu blog works as a landing page and when you want to read the rest of the article you are “whisked” away to "support" domain.

Here is an example of one of my postings:

    h**p://blogs.law.harvard*edu/travelguide/england/top-10-places-to-visit-in-london/

(change the first two “*” to t’s and the last to a “.”)

If you notice, the article cuts off and gives you the option to continue to the next page. That next page is outside of the edu blog. Please let me know if the ad placements can be optimized further without losing too much of the "feel" of the original blog.

If anyone has any ideas on how I can get this running better please let me know.

    Again, thanks for the help.

My friend - If you are studying Law at Harvard - just forget about the blog and concentrate on your studies!

I have a few friends who are recent graduates and they are making the kind of money you cannot expect to make from blogging :)

    Just my 2 cents.

P.S. If you are not studying at Harvard, please PM me and tell me how you got a Harvard email!

    Thanks

Actually I am not studying law at Harvard, nor would I want too! Studyin for the LSAT was enough law school for me.

However in regards to your comment - from the Harvard Law blog page:

Anyone with an email address at harvard.edu, radcliffe.edu, or hbs.edu can sign up instantly and be blogging in minutes.

    Thank you for that!

Do you know how someone can get an email address on any of harvard.edu, radcliffe.edu, or hbs.edu?

I checked out your blog and I couldn't find the link to your other blog outside .edu

I noticed that you have placed Adsense on the .edu blog instead. Did you change your mind?

In my opinion, this placement is not that good to get many clicks - even though it looks good as far as the design goes.

IF you want to keep your blog looking nice - don't change it.
IF you want to initiate more clicks - use bigger Ad formats.

    That's all I can say :)

Thanks Spycraft for the advice. What bigger ad format do you suggest?

Just a quick note...you did leave the edu blog. Take a closer look at url of the adsense ad page. :)

    Kudos Alex :)

I noticed the change in the URL before but I was expecting a totally different address so I didn't actually notice that it was a different domain!

You have to be cautious with that, however, cause using their name in your URL could cause you trouble. Had a similar experience with my college....

As far as the bigger ad format - just check out the various formats of Adsense when you are setting up your Ad. I didn't have anything in specific in mind, but smaller Ad formats don't seem to work for me.

Pwiiiiiiz tell me about the email lol
