how to optimize adsense in a forum site? I am sure this question must have been asked before, so sorry if it's repetitive. I searched DP ,but so far couldn't find a similar thread.

Have you tried the random ad positioning between posts?

If you want to check out a forum that makes a killing from AdSense head over to www-anabolicminds-com

Excellant site, He's making the second post always an ad. How to do that?

Thanks, but it's mainly about which program to use for making forums and placing ads, I wanna know how to optimize them(thier position,color,...etc.) how to blend them into the site?

I think you should also have one at the very top, a bit like DP.

I like adding one on top and on the bottom. Mix between ads and links.

putting a 728x90 at the top below the navbar is a good place, I've found that having the background the same with no border works well

putting adsense at the bottom of the forum has never done well for me at all and I've seen where it's actually taken the total ecpm down quite a bit

if you put a square next to the quick reply that can get you a few clicks a day because it gives somebody a good exit point

also, don't forget about the archive. Sometimes the archive gets more traffic than my regular forum. I have tried several different setups with the forum archive and the best that I found that putting two 336x280 large rectangles side by side at the very top blended with the background - it has been good for an additional $300 or more per month for me

    Forum Software:
    SMF
    phpBB
    vBulletin
    Invision Power Board
    YaBB
    ezboard
    ikonboard

Try to visit their official website and read the installation guildline. If you need my help, please send me a pm and i am here to help.

Regarding how to optimize the ads in position, maybe you can customize the script and create a side bar for your forum. After put the google ads in the site bar.

    Hope this help. :)

I dont know if you've tried this or not, but Google has updated their optimization tips for forums. I was already using about half of their tips, however after doing all of their tips to my forum, my click rate just about doubled!

If you're running vBulletin then check over at vbulletin.com as they have a lot of mods for adsense, I also use a few of them myself!

PS. DP won't let me post a link  so let me try this...

Avatar7, I've been using Vbulletin for years and have gotten the best use out of it. In my opinion, it's worth the money.
