Adsense Placement

Here's a cute little site I came up with called Favorite Part. It's just for fun and I don't really expect a lot of traffic from it. Feel free to critique it all that you would like.

My question to you guys is, Is there better places for my AdSense placement? Should I add more than the one ad to the screen.

I have my own opinions but would rather hear yours.

Should you thread be post under the review section? It is clever to add images before link units but they don't fit exactly. Still need to fine tune them.

Hey that's pretty interesting. I'd suggesting making the click points much more clear. I had a real hard time seeing them. If you could turn it into some kind of app where I could drag a selection box that'd be even cooler.

FYI, the text it shows after you click is hidden behind the image for me in firefox 1.5.0.5

the ad below the Judge a Different Photo is too close to the image, you better provide some room between the image and the ad

So I'm getting some visitors to my FavoritePart.com website. However they don't seem to want to click my ads.

Is it my ad placement or is this going to be a low CTR site by its nature?

What's your CTR like atm.. and i'd recommend taking off the 'advertise on this site', other than that your placement seems ok, maybe add another skyscraper on the right same as on the left..

    Hello,

This site is cool! The donkey cart rules. I picked the guy on the left too.

The problem here is you blended the navigation too well. You have to search to find the "Next Images" link. After I clicked an image, I wanted to do another and had to search around for the link. This would work if visitors clicked AdSense instead, but you say there are not.

Also, the site is convoluted with AdSense and text that runs into each other making it hard to read.

Make some sense out of it, so your visitors can get into it.

    Good luck,
    Ty

I just now moved the top ad. It seems simpler now. I will change the Previous and Next links to images.

    Thanks for the advice.

ADVERTISE ON MY SITE FOR $0.04 PER 1,000 IMPRESSIONS!

Ok, I'm not completely serious, but that is the result I am seeing today for this site. I think it is because it is new and that I have an EXTREMELY low CTR.

I think this will be well worth it for Text-Link-Ads.com though. I am currently making $50 a month on a very low traffic, but good PR linking site. FavoritePart.com would at least bring in that. However I will wait until it gets some sort of PageRank and/or good Alexa rating.

Speaking of Alexa though, this site is in the top 65,000. I know Alexa ranking isn't exactly the most accurate, but it is something.

On a side note, if somebody would like to have a text ad on the site PM me with an offer. I have already had a couple offers to sell this site, it is very promising.

I see you didnt take my advice and add the skyscraper on the left, people tend to click ads on the left more.

Sorry, I was a little confused before. I'm not sure why I was confused, I guess that's the nature of being confused ;)

    Do you mean like this?

Turning off "Advertise on this Site" took a few days to register. Now it looks a little less cluttered. Thanks for the suggestion.

I didn't really see an increase in clicks. What seems to have helped the most is changing the background to white. Normally it works best when you incorporate the ads into the background... however it seems this case they need to stand out so they can be seen.

I may try the same thing with the side bar in the near future.
