I personally prefer Windows 7 over XP.

Microsoft made a really good OS.

I've been using the Win 7 RC for about a month now in a dual boot configuration with XP and I have to say that every day I find it harder to boot into XP.

Maybe it's just because Win 7 is newer and flashier but I've found nothing to complain about. Sooner or later we're all going to have to upgrade, but at least upgrading to Win 7 won't be a step down from XP the way Vista was.

    Windows 7 will be great.

7 will actually have an XP mode to which you will be able to switch if you want.

Only the Professional editions and above will have the XP mode and it seems to be limited to running apps, not games.

It's really meant for business users who have legacy apps they can't migrate away from.

the video card may not be good enough to play games. ;)
xp mode you need to download 2 files, one being a copy of xp (445MB).
you can download other software that will do the same thing, like VMware.
their copy of xp may be stripped, but you can install your own copy of xp or another OS like i'm doing in the ScreenShot.

Doesnt matter how many more versions after XP they make. I dont think i will use any of them.. XP is just too stable and just going to be better than all future versions.

I prefer win7, it supports multiple core processors, multiple graphics cards, better memory management etc. PLUS, windows xp is hacker bait, for now... Win7 isn't :)

...it still will be based off another windows. ;)
they haven't released anything new since windows 95.they add features and change things and sometimes break things, like Visa or Windows ME. :D
XP is the best OS on the market.the last time i checked Win7 hasn't been released yet ;),but could replace XP when it does.

I have used both windows. In security region window 7 might be used, but user friendly is xp.

I am using Vista and I guess I would start using Windows 7 when it gets released. I believe the 7 version is more user-friendly than the previous versions.

Windows 7 seems to be great but i have not tested that OS yet..
i am currently using XP now and I haven't encountered any problems with it so why should I switch?

All the MS products are resource-hungry. XP is the best choice.
