    What poll?

    Use 4 ads, even if you're using the leaderboards. Use 5 and more likely than not you'll just squeeze the ads so close together that they end up looking like one big word.

    So do I, so I was interested if this has got any deep meaning or just in number of ads... you now, adsense is tricky (less is more etc). ;)

    Sometimes I only see one or two link ads in my leaderboards, even though I've selected 5 (I think) - content is really sparse in some places :(

    Yeah, I know a site that on about 5,000impressions/day makes around $5K/month from mostly one link unit ad which is often mistaken for its nav bar :cool:

    So if you use them correcty they can definetly be good, specially on very simple sites, with little navigation.... ;)

    I prefer to use 4 ads in a link unit. My thinking behind this is that the top 4 highest paying adverts will be displayed instead of top 5. This may have a very tinsy winsy effect on earnings per click?

    For me, I sometimes use 4 link but some of my website use 5 ads link unit. But more clicks is come from 4 links ads unit.

    Not necessarily.. Im using 5 on some of my sites and there's more than ample room between each link to easily tell them apart. I guess it depends on the length of the title though, but never had a problem with 5 myself.
