This two operation system create one company "Microsoft" so I think that windows xp and windows7 are good operation system because first OS create MS.

Now little talk about windows xp.
I'm use XP system because other OS don't can install game or program and have other problem.
I can tell you that windows xp is one most popular OS system in the world because this system can use home, child user and other people.
Why I'm use this system ?Hmm this system I use because windows xp are simple, fairly fast and can install all program.

    Talk about Windows 7.
Hmm... Most people know that windows 7 have windows vista theme. This windows7 system is by created from windows vista.
But I can tell you that windows 7 is very fast have a lot of tools and your computer processor must be 1GHz,32bit,1GB ram and 16gb HDD space.
Most tell that windows 7 are windows xp but have vista theme, more tools and are stability.

I want tray windows 7 but I don't think that windows 7 by so popular with windows xp.

But I stay with windows xp operation system :)

I use a Windows 7 for over 2 months now (build 7600 btw.)
It's much more faster and stable than any other Windows version, at least on my computer.

I use 64-bit system with 8Gb DDR2 Ram. I also think that Win7 supports and works better with ram than WinXP. Games, applications and most importantly drivers works just fine.

I would get Windows 7, but I'm worried that applications I currently use just won't support it yet. When the apps start to make the jump in supporting it, then I think I'll switch.

I use a Mac, but for the Windows stuff that I do need to do I would go with Windows XP.

what kind of software do you currently using? just go for 64 bit version of windows 7 if your processor is dual core and above. so far Adobe cs4 and cs3 pack runs great with Windows 7

I'm using Visual Studio for programming, and I play games as well, which are usually picky with what OS you play it on, which is what I'm worried about, lol.

Ugly?! Xp is the most ugly. Windows 7 is amazing, beta version is better than the whole XP version!

I'm using vista right now, as I love it. I really don't see why so many people hate to admit it...but it's awesome. XP = Old and suckish.

    Just my view though :)

Too much crap in new windows, xp I stay with for a while until I go over to linux ^^

Because it's only good for opening office documents and looking at pretty widgets. Try to play games with vista on normal NOT MONSTER computers. With my computer I couldn't play a 10 years old game made by Blizzard on Vista with latest drivers... So I switched to XP and tada! It works perfectly!

The future lies in 64-bit operating systems. That could be the sole reason to upgrade from Windows XP 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit.
