Based on my experience with FDC previously, they do have network downtimes quite frequently in the frequency of 1-3x in 6 months. Those network downtimes can last for a few hours. And not to mention they have intermediary downtimes for a few minutes here and there sometimes. With that, I can't recall them having any SLA hence no refunds on network downtimes as well.

They provide budget servers which is good if you are a start-up. In regards to how many web proxies you can host, truth be spoken you can host 10000 web proxies that have no traffic on a server. You need to determine how many visitors each web proxy has and how much server resources are all 50 using at the moment. If you are getting 200 visitors a day on all 50 web proxies, 2gb ram would not suffice. It also depends on whether does your proxy gets abused.

Wrek, from what I understand, you place ads on user's proxy in return for free hosting. May I ask where are the ads placed and how many of them?

Hi Mentos, I am interested, which country is it that you are hosted with and are the costs high? Also is there a particular reason you chose offshore instead of US-based hosting?

I think this is worth revisiting - how do you guys monetize your proxified pages? I've tried Adversal, Canep, GI, Adbrite, Kontera... and my proxified page earnings together are 1/3 what I get from Adsense. That's very disappointing, considering how many more page views I get with proxified pages...

Any other companies worth considering? I'll sign up under affiliate links for anyone that refers me to a good company. Thanks.

    Hello,

Having had the same problem I switched to the network you find in my signature 3 weeks ago, and I am much happier. I get twice as much as the maximum from the competing networks you listed, and my traffic has a lot of bad countries in it. If you use my link they pay you 80% of earnings, no BS!

put banners on the proxified pages pointing to your other websites
in this way you can also make money through adsense
i do it for my free image host
    check www.maskus.info
surf something and youll see the top banner pointing to my website with adsense ads again

a new idea maybe worth giving a Greeny to me :D

Hmm, I actually just signed up for Smowtion a few days ago. I put ads on proxified pages over my entire network and not just the site I signed up with. So far, it shows 0 page impressions and 1 click for $0.008... am I just limited to the homepage of the sites I sign up with? If that's the case, I can't use this network.

I've thought of doing that, but unfortunately all I run are proxies right now. btw, your proxy is having some issues. I get "temporarily moved" notices and blank pages when I type in a url. And you also don't have banner ads on proxified pages. :-P

    Hey Hip Hydra,

you say I put ads on proxified pages over my entire network and not just the site I signed up with which might be a reason for you bad returns. I think you need to have every site approved, which in my case has been a piece of cake.

In any case I am very happy with them, and I can really recommend them as on average I get twice the amount :) compared to the other ad networks we use on proxified pages.

I would if I had just a few sites, but I have.... way too many. :(

Word of advice for everyone though - look into using OpenX. I found out about it today. It allows a very easy method of rotating ads and geo-targeting. Plus you can track stats across your ads in a centralized location. Which is great for experimentation and the like.

That pretty normal coz they pay more based on click rather than CPM.
Why don't you use pop ups ads?
    You can earn more.
