    I know some basic photoshop tools and i have designed some logos and banners to my site, but i am not a bid designer,,,,,,, i saw lots of peoples doing mind blowing designs in BST section,,,,, and i too saw lots of websites like smashing magazine, smashing apps, devinesart, etc., have lots of great designs,,,,,,, i too like to be a great designer like those,,,,,,, i like to know where to start,,,,,,, can any big designer please help me with this,,,,,,

    Hi,

    You might have seen some of my works in the BST section and its not bad...

    1. Start by doing tutorials from the web, good webs like tutorialized.com have loads of good beginner tuts

    2. Attend Design classes in school or near your area..

    3. Get clients and add works for your portfolio!

    there maybe some things I might have missed but I guess this is the key to start graphics

    Start with tutorials...And read whole photoshop/illustrator help files - learn to use the soft.
    That's all...My own experience.

    doing a course in your local area is a good start but it also helps to have a basic understanding of the software first :)

    I've found a lot of design work at various day jobs. Especially if you work for a private business, they always need someone to take care of their business communications, internet, and maybe even some physical site design.

    It's really helpful to take a class at a college and immerse yourself in other people's work too. You'll learn so much, and also get so much motivation.

    Don't neglect modern fine artists either. They've got a lot of great ideas.

    Comes down to your level of creativity, it is ok knowing how to use photoshop and other leading design programs but if you are not creative you will still find it difficult to design, look for inspiration off other designers.

    Iam new to designing, but I haven't used any tutorials, and I love to design :D I am just learning by designing banners for other people at the Contest area, I know I won't win, but I'm just trying my best, + that wll learn me more about designing. I try using some tools I've never used before, see how the function and etc.
