Alright, so my traffic spiked today by about 1k uniques, and I absolutely no clicks to show for that, I think I need to improve my ad placement ;)

Also, my bandwidth is beginning to run out quickly....So, blocking countries...

Is using .htaccess the wrong way to go about it? I figure I would use the IP ranges at:
    http://www.countryipblocks.net/

If anyone can help me out with this I would appreciate it.

Thanks for all the help guys.

I know what you mean. My server was pretty busy today and got a bit slow around 1:00PM and I have a Quad Core with 8GB ram. Yet barley any revenue.
I really dont get it. Its like they all are complety adblind or have adblockers on. Maby the filters are blocking ads now?
But I wouldn't be surprised. Alot of the big adnetworks (clicksor, chitika, Yeildmanager, abdirte) have been plagued by malicious advertisers serving malware and viruses for the past year. That is something a school/ corporate and businesses are not going to want coming onto their network. So probably they would block them. Adsense is the only one thats been clean so far..

    EDIT: BINGO

Wow, Yahoo! Answers just banned my Level 4 account for answering questions about proxies (that's all I've ever done with that account).

    Sorry to hear that.
But i don't recommend anyone using their main yahoo answer account to promote proxy at yahoo answer.
Instead, create another account solely for promotion purpose.

That's what the account was solely for :p I only used it for proxies, nothing else.

My only issue is that I won't be able to post live links now. I'm thinking that maybe I should make like 5 accounts and get them to at least level 2, so that if one of them gets banned, I still have others to post live links.

But I used to use up all 60 of my questions per day. Poor me :(

Wow that is some great finding mate! Did you get that from your office? From what I know Blue Cost is normally implemented by companies only, schools mainly use websense. If Bluecoat is blocking yieldmanagers.com, that would mean it would be blocking any proxy that uses GlobalInteractive, MediaShakers, BannerConnect, and a few more others that uses the yieldmanagers network..no wonder the revenue isnt coming in. Thanks for the heads up mate!

I'm looking for guest poster on xytheme.com.
The site does have adsense revenue sharing so any poster will get their slice of revenue as well.
If you are interested, do let me know by PM.

Im not sure how proxies go, but I would guess 4-5 months revenue. About $1,500 I guess?

You mean 10 proxy make $1.50/day each.
    Or
Total of your proxy make $1.50/day?
    There is huge different here.
And the average price for proxy site sales is around maximum 3x of your average monthly earning.

The major factors it will depend upon are

    1) Age of the proxies
    2) Traffic sources (referal, direct or Search Engines)
    3) Hosting cost
    4) Quality of domain

But as mentos said generally proxies are sold for 2-3x monthly revenue

Yes it is but most of the proxy lists traffic withstands for only a day or two and then it dies. Only few good proxy lists are there which will send you traffic consistently like proxy.org & unblocked.me

So, I'm still in a bit of a dilemma here.

Are ads on the proxy frames/pop unders pretty much essential?

Right now I only have adsense on the main page, and I'm getting a nice amount of money per click, however no one is clicking them. Given, my traffic is very low right now (~1000 uniques per day), but over promoting right now would only send my bandwidth through the roof, and the cost to revenue ratio would only remain disproportionate.

So, any suggestions? Its against the adsense TOS to put ads on proxied pages, adversal denied me, and I only hear bad things about adbrite.

Thanks for the help, and sorry if I'm asking dumb questions, I'm a programmer not a marketer ;).

@gamerfreak, if you have ways to get indian users then try axill, if you got asian users, use nuffnang or advertlets. They should be a nice alternative.
