    Hello.

What's the best and fastest way to create a image map? I'm thinking of creating an entire website as one big image map.

    cheers.

    Thanks SubZtep,

I download a WYSIWYG editor which does it. Although creating a website using one big image map will create huge load times. :(

    np.
Of course, you need to cut the picture and make some optimisation on it with Photoshop (or any other graphics software). I think image map is really oldschool.

you can use photoshop to get the coordinates but that's probably not the easiest way.

Maybe you can consider to convert it to a flash based interactive image map -- which would load much faster than a jpg image map, and you can add lots of interactive functions. Check out iMapBuilder at http://www.imapbuilder.com, which can import any JPG/PNG images, then convert it to an interactive image map.

I use Dreamweaver and just use hotspots. They have a polygon tool as well so you can make any shape. I use rectangles mostly.
