    I’d like to get input on selecting a Content Management System on which to build a website which demands SEO friendliness.

    I am going to do a major overhaul of a currently active site, and if it means transferring the content over to a new CMS, then I will.

    This is basically an article driven niche informational website. (If it will help, I’ll pass along the URL)

    I’m on OS commerce right now, but I’m pretty sure there’s something much better. Without a doubt, maximization of SEO techniques will be my number 1 criteria for selecting a CMS.

    I need a CMS that allows complete control of URL's, title tags, meta tags, and keyword tags.

    Any suggestions?

    Wordpress is the way to go. It has the best seo of any CMS out there, and it is the easiest to use. Even has 1 click install at most web hosts.

    The template used and the content and your ability to leverage keywords will play a bigger role than the underlying CMS.

    I do very well with WordPress and Joomla. And there are plenty of high ranking Drupal Sites. Google crawls and indexes content as long as your CMS doesn't get in the way of the content any would work fine.

    You may need to install plugins to get complete control, but they are readily available for all 3 platforms.

    Wordpress is NOT a CMS but it will work well if the first thing you are concerned with is SEO.

    If you have big plans for your site use Joomla. If not, use Wordpress.

    Modx is great for SEO. It allows url rewrite and sends correct response headers.

    After playing for several years with Modx I developed my own SEO friendly CMS. Check video tutorials below.

    Drupal has a lot modules that makes your site SEO friendly. Wordpress comes SEO ready.
