    Depends on your content. For the best result, you should try both and associate each of them with different channel.

    Blending is clealry the most popular here but how many of you guys saying "blending DEFINITELY" have actually experimented?

    I tried all sorts and find that different sites and even different pages on sites react differently. As a result of months and months of trial and error I have a complete mish mash of alternatives - about 65%- 35% in favour of blended.

    My sites that work well with "stand out" ads tend to be those with lower repeat visitor numbers or stickyness. The higher the repeat visitor numbers the better blended seems to work - for me anyway.

    There IS NO definitive answer to this - you need to trial all the options and keep records over a reasonable period of time. Besides even then what works for you may not for the next man.

    My point is, blend it if you haven't got lots of Returning visitors.

    This is a great example of what I meant. Frisby finds exactly the opposite to me. You have to experiment and give it time. Keep records daily.

    whitespider, great example is DP. If the ads at top-right would be blended, I doubt I would take a look at them. But they are very attractive (colors), so my eyes are very often on them.

    And at DP I am a returning visitor and I know these are ads. If I am for first time on site and probably won't come soon back, you try me to catch that these ads are content (blending).

    Hi Frisby

    I am not doubting you.........

    I am not making the argument for or against the options, simply making the point that its different for everyone and that they should TRY different options before settling for one or the other.

    I personally found that on a site with low returns that a white backgroound and border (on a white site) but with blood red link text worked best for ME - not others probably though.

    Mate, I also didn't want to be against your experiences, that is on you, what you found out.

    But I wanted to represent my look at this and I gave you also one great example.

    Also I agree that it is different for everyone, and more, for every site it can be different.

    Bye.

    This is no problem, array of adsense code in php, then just rand(0,count($adsense_code)-1);

    Simple as that. :)
