    It'd be nice if the avatars at least didnt mislead others into thinking people are a different sex... but then I've posted for 10+ years under my real name. Obviously havent grasped the value of an ambiguous screen persona.

    Neither did I ;) and as old as my avatar looks, many would think of me as a wrinkled man sitting in the middle of a pile of books (mostly classics and old English poetry!), retired and widow with utterly archaic choice of colors.

    Look at it from my perspective. Even with my picture (obviously male) and my NAME in my signature (again obviously male), my company name as my username seems to still mislead many into thinking I am female.

    Go figure...

    I see your point though... For a while a few years back I used Jenna Haze as my avatar. Not because I wanted to confuse. I'm just a fan!

    People often mistake me for a woman...usually from the back though...guess it's the hair.

    I still don't get why people put pics of females as their avatars as if it actually gets people interested in you :rolleyes:
