Do you feel it's right for the government to issue a license for all Internet Business eventhough your internet business is small and operated by one fellow.

No, I don't know what country you're in, but in the UK normal bricks and mortar business don't need a licence, why should internet ones?

It's about normal business license that the Government should consider of. Maybe some government can make an adjustment to their normal business license for use on Internet Business.

Yes, this question maybe in theory but nevertheless the government should make control of it to avoid any fraudulanced.

In the US I equate licenses more with a tax than with fraud avoidance or public protection.

Licensing can make you appear credible to clients rather than just a peicemeal "business".

Guess it matters what type of business you're trying to run and what kinds of clients you want.

If there are no tax payable by anyone on one's country, then where come the money government needed to run the country.

Yes, the tax indeed sucks. But please see it in a rational views.

Anyway, if there are no license for anyone to operate internet business, then some culprit will abuse the internet business and make scam on worldwide basis. The licensing will control all the business entity professionally.

Anyway, this is my views only.

From other sources. How do you think they did it before they started taxing income?

Also, if the government needs to look everywhere it can for taxes; it needs to decrease spending, not increase taxes and regulation.

Ok.... but there still need some regulation on licensing the Internet Business. I still sees the need. Some fraudulent and scam can be avoided by implementing licensing.

While BBBOnline are good services, we also need some legal backup from the government.

Sorry, but I vote yes for licensing and taxes. Your business generates income which you probably use to engage mostly in your country's economy. You would not want to live anywhere where taxes are not paid in some form or fashion. Even street gangs have a form of taxation. (Read the book: Freakonomics) All businesses should be licensed (and pay a FAIR share of taxes)

I agree that there should be very limited taxation, but this is for a requirement to get a license when you start a website.

Oops, What I wrote was a little confusing.

I meant that there should be limited taxation in general(ex:income) and there should be no requirement to get a license if you want to make money.
Money made on the internet is the same as money made at a job.

p.s. I don't mean to just start a disagreement, just wanted to revise my statement.

Little taxation will help but I still prefer the licensing as a guide for better Internet Business ethics. Some Internet Business are developed just for scam without user at large have any sort of identification.

Well, all business I conduct on the net (like through DP for example) I report to my accountant and therefore all activity is subject to the tax laws of the country I reside (Australia).

I don't like doing anything illegal because you can end up with stuff that sticks to you wherever you go (if you know what I mean!).

Jesus once said "Pay all Ceasar's things to Caesar", which means if we owe money to our government we should abide by the laws that hold us to that.
