Number of proxies doesn't matter much though number of visitors do. I suppose 5-10k uv/day should be able to make you $20/day easily. Rest it can be more or less depending upon your skills of ad placements and the templates you choose.

It all depends on your traffic, specially your traffic quality. for e.g. advertisers are paying more $$ for US traffic than China traffic. Start testing and you'll find out how much traffic you need to reach your goal.

Yes PR is very important to proxies if you have plan to flip(sell) it.

 

do you think promoting yahoo and google groups still working? I have tried it before and I think i got lots of unwanted traffic from there. any thoughts?

 

Because on the proxy sites themselves, we block a few countries that cause nothing but headaches usually - Iran, China, India and about 3 others which I forget, but your site is actually online and working. We will implement a way round it shorlty so that site creators aren't subject to the country blocking.

 

Newsletters are still one of the best performing promotion methods I've been using for the past years. Unwanted traffic? Not at all, I block unwanted traffic or redirect them to a proxy list .

@geekos, nice I'm going to check it out if I have some spare money. I'm really curious and hope I haven't used the method before

 

Which newsletters are you using? its really tough for me to find people selling newsletter blasts(except proxy.org)

 

I've been using the Addvertise.Info newsletter, a lot of free newsletter blasts and I've also searched for lists like ProxySites.Ca that offer a newsletter blast together with a cheap featured listing

I've heard from many people that the Proxy.Org blast isn't the best one there is, I've tested it myself and it wasn't what I expected neither. Though now it seems like it got much better since tons of inactive emails were deleted etc.

How many days/weeks ago have you tried the blast? Did it perform good for you or not?

I used it last month..got close to 1k visitors and made $8 with adsense..the next day, the traffic was half.

One of the probem why I didnt submit to it again was because most of email slots are bought by some "Simon Ruis"...check out any of their google group and pick and random proxy from last one month. It will be most probably owned by Simon Ruis(whois check).

look at this google group listing, all the .info are of same person..this discourages me to submit again. I guess he has a lot of money to have ~10 links everyday..that amounts to $50 per day..its same like the co.cc submissions in Tech-faq..

Looks like there is someone who promotes proxies more fiercely than you ...

PS: I still do not know what relevance the deletion of inactive emails has with traffic to the proxy sites..earlier it used be "X active mails(who visited to proxies) + Y Inactive ones(who do not visit)...now its "X active mails"...they were the traffic sourse earlier..and they still are..so there wont be any increase in traffic..

checkout freeproxyhosting.net...they seem to be the only one providin it.

 

Thanks for the info about free hosting but i want to know if their is any trusted webhost which will provide me unlimited bandwidth and 5+gbs disk space coz i run 71 proxies but my old webhost wont let me to host them so i am in search of new ,
I tried freeproxyhost.net it's not that good.

 

There are some pretty cool proxi services out there that I know of!

 

You cant get unlimited BW for proxy hosting..the best web hosts out there are TechEntrance and o2proxyhost..even TMZhosting is good..

But for bigger networks like yours, you should go for big VPS..or a dedi..

I wanted to know which proxy script is fastest
i tried PHProxy but it affects on the bandwidth a lot n now i am using Glype its a bit slow just need to know is their any script faster than these.
