Why not? It's good to have a specific niche.

 

Is there any point re-creating the wheel at this point? Stick to FB, or Ning.

 

Folks seem to forget that Facebook was an up and coming a few years ago. MySpace was around but that didn't stop them from trying.

I host well over 300 social network sites on my servers. Most of them are using Elgg or WPMu or others. Some of them do enough business via upgrades or advertisements to support the staff quite nicely.

 

Yah Bcz Lots of pakistanis using.. Fb, and myspace.. so why not i created a community website for pakistanis ?? and we also offer to all our members to promote their business, product, website etc.. International members are mostwelcome..

 

Lol, if I was to make a plugin for webDOM to add friends and PM spam on your network, it would take me longer to make the plugin (10 minutes), than to add all the members. Have you ever thought of using other social networks to gain users for yours? I've done it before, works well when you use a smaller competitor network and spam their users acting like you got a deal for them. Also helps if you somehow imply nonchalantly that the network you're sending these PM's on is allowing you to do this or in some way sponsoring you... don't actually right out and say that they are, but make it seem like they could easily be for your behaviour on their site. Gets new users pretty quickly within the next day.

Site looks good, but it's damn slow. I was about registering, but captcha thing moved me away from your site (I don't like captchas). I believe simple email verification is enough

 

Yep, it's an Elgg site. Sadly, social networking sites are a dime a dozen. You've got to offer something new in order to see your site grow. You may want to focus your site on a particular niche, for example.

It's just another clone of fb. I think new social network should has fresh idea. I just thinking if there any social network that can provide video conference to all the members.

 

I didn't realize this forum was to be used to advertise your social network. I thought it was for questions and how-to's. Heck I might as well advertise my social network site here too

By the way... good luck. It's not easy getting a site going. It takes a boatload of time.
