    I'm using vps.net for my proxies since several weeks.
    My Proxies are very fast with only 768MB of memory :)

    I asked them before if they allow proxies and the answered me that they allow proxies (don't talked about some script)

    Since you use a VPS it depends on your setup how much load you have (php based proxies have less load than cgi based proxies in general)

    olaf2, my friend, who has answered you is with them for over a month. I asked him to reply to you. BTW: Olaf has quite a number of proxies and been in the proxy business some years, so VPS.net is safe.

    PM me I you want anything else.

    @JacobNix
    Sorry mate, I am more inclined towards glype. :eek:

    @Vahing and Olaf2
    We all would really appreciate if you could provide a proxy hosted by VPS.net so that we can test the speed. Also, what is the max traffic that 786MB memory can handle??

    768MB is about 3 nodes, on busy hours I use 1.8 on avg. with ~3.5 Mbps traffic.

    My proxies having several limits (filesize, countries)m, but try hidelive dot com

    @above people talking cloud vps hosting.

    Do proxy websites really need that kind of hosting ? You could probably get something way cheaper with similar uptime levels.

    A VPS is much cheaper than a dedicated server :D
    you need your own server to host web proxies, a VPS is the cheap option!

    If you see my sig, you will know that I know a bit about hosting. ;) My question is that do you really need redundant scalable cloud vps hosting when a simple vps on a single dedicated server would be much cheaper ?

    Sure a "normal" VPS can do the job, but than you get problems if the server is bad configured. I tried many VPS services and most of them s__k.

    A dedicated server is the normal solution for a proxy and some GOOD vps is good to start.

    btw. it's not only the network from vps.net that rules, they offer great tools to get your VPS very fast in the air with optimized linux images of your choice ;)

    @ishan,

    just checked you hosting site, you offer proxy hosting for 13.49usd (150gb bandwidth)
    With vps.net it's 20usd for 250gb bandwidth, that's pretty cheap :D

    We recently started colocating at UberBandwidth Datacentre. You should see their network once :) .

    Can you describe the optimized linux images ?

    Well, when you consider that you have only 384 MB RAM , out of which the OS & control panel use around 50-200 MB , you won't be able to use the 250 GB. Again, proxy websites transfer nearly equal amounts in & out , so that 250 is more like 125 GB.

    From my experience, even with 8 GB RAM (centos + cPanel), you can't use more than 4-4.5TB of bandwidth.

    I had looked at vps.net before, but never from a proxy hosting point of view.

    About our plans, they should be changing soon , with the bandwidth probably doubling after we move everything/get new servers shipped to uberbandwidth dc.

    Actually, Olaf has joined the thread and already explained some facts.

    VPS.net offers on-demand scalability with which you can even schedule! So it’s the right choice to deal with school holidays and demand peaks when you have a proxy promotion running for example. Then, using VPS.net you have your proxy configuration is automatically backed up and last but not least you can get support 7x24x365.

    The key advantage is the VPS.net node concept: A dedi server or common VPS is hardly scalable. You can for instance buy a second server or have your host add 512 MB RAM, but with cloud computing you can size/scale in a linear fashion and instant downgrading is not a problem.

    If you only have a handful of proxies then I recommend vectro.com; the owner is a very helpful guy frequently around here. If you are thinking about VPS on the other hand then be assured that VPS.net does really have the best price to value, especially when you make use of the 25% code I can provide you with.

    Also, VPS.net belongs to UK2Group, much better than some fly-by-night proxy host companies which take hours to reboot your VPS. A VPS.net VPS with nodes in the cloud also has many advantages over a dedicated server, e.g. instant scalability and failover just to name a few.
