I actually have a talent for attacking both the argument and the person. as you know, from experience, my preferred method is to dismantle and destroy their argument, and then point out the flaws in their character which led them to believe such indefensible garbage and ludicrous nonsense.

 

I have no idea how you guys get away with some of the things you say. Like calling people mindless, stupid, gay, etc. Massive insults going around here and I get an infraction for saying Zibblu has no credibility. NEVER called him a name, just said he had no credibility. Don't get it. Seems there is some major bias going on around here, cuz according to the rules here, most of you would of definitely hit 10 points and been banned by now. That's why I don't even bother posting here really because it seems totally unbalanced on who gets an infraction or not.

What you call "talent" most people refer to as immaturity. Attacking a person's character, as you have just admitted to doing, is never a part of a debate, whether discussing politics, science, or any other topic.

Even when arguing the subject at hand, you refuse to acknowledge basic facts, such as the definition of a word, if it does not substantiate your position. It is at EXACTLY that point you fall back to personal insults, declaration of victory, or a change of topic. It is no more valid of an argumentation technique than saying "I know you are but what am I", which is one of the reasons I posted my suspicious about your age. Had you been through even a high school speech and debate class, you would be aware of these things.

@firegirl: I believe stOx has been banned once already for this very thing. I too have been banned once(for a month) and the administrator left only the comment "Time for a break" as his reason. This ban came within 24 hours of my P&R post entitled "Was the Prophet Mohammad Gay?". As a matter of fact, I received miscellaneous infractions with no explanation consistently when I posted anything slightly sac-religious to Islam. My post entitled "I'm back" for instance, received a one point infraction for being posted in the wrong category (P&R?).

Apparently the way it works around here is you can insult anyone you want(not that I make a practice of it), so long as you don't speak ill of the "Prophet". Perhaps your infraction came prematurely because your logo is not wearing a headscarf.

 

Hell, lots of religions are founded by insane people. Scientology was started by a Scifi writer who said Xenu was real, Mormonism was started by ol' Joe Smith after one of his binges, and Christianity was created from a rebellious Jew who wanted to change the status quo. All in all, Islam seems to have originated in a fairly mundane way in comparison.

Obamanation, if someone states, for instance, that they believe gays should be killed, as was stated by the person you are running to the defence of, then they are frankly a repulsive human being and both their argument and character need to be defeated and exposed for what it is.

They think coming into a topic saying "yeah right, whatever you Atheists will never understand god, you thick as shit" is the same as proving that Atheists are as thick as shit and then saying it. That by responding to them by saying "your actually the ignorant and delusional one" requires a ban.

They think saying "fuck Bush" is the same as saying "fuck them" EG demands a ban.

That me saying the priest was "trying to shag the devil out of his daughter" is blasphemous, when that's what he was doing.

That criticizing Israel government policy is "anti-semetic" and deserves a ban, they don't even realise saying someone is anti-semetic is enough to get banned without them providing evidence (a quote/post etc), evidence of being "anti-semetic" for example would be EG "I hate you Jews".

They even think (I had this discusstion with Mia in a different context) that saying that above would demand a ban because it says "I hate you Jews".

And yes in every thread here there are strawmans and hate it should be cleared up.

Unless they are breaking a law, there is nothing that the American government can do about it. I.e. Freedom of Religion, and also Separation of Church (mosque, temple etc...) and State.

Well, I'm not sure I buy that you speak for the gay populace. My money says I have more gay friends than you do. That said, I am still scratching my head to figure out how a gay invitation to stOx to have beers is any more(or less) offensive than your "Straight" invitation to do the same. You assume stOx is straight. Perhaps stOx is a staunch "straight" guy and finds gay advances unwanted. How would that be different than him finding your straight advances repulsive for any reason? Answer: It wouldn't. None of this has anything to do with insulting gay people.

That is certainly one word for it, though depending on your definition, stOx does nothing but troll on this forum with anti-religious hate speech. I suppose we all have an axe to grind.

Interestingly, I agree with the principal of what you are saying though certainly not with the approach. If someone says all gays should be killed, their character is self apparent. The minute you go down the path of calling someone a disgusting coward, an insult, and a statement of a hateful opinion, you've jumped in the swamp with both feet and are likely to get an escalated and hateful response depending on the maturity level of the person you are talking to. Its infraction worthy on any normal forum and, again, has no place in a normal debate.

What I really like to watch is someone kicking the crap out of someone else, especially when I hate the person getting his ass kicked. Even better is when the person getting his ass kicked is religious, because clearly(to most of us) the religious are a disgusting waste of life.
