Creating a web page with adobe photoshop

Hello, I am trying to build a website, and I want to know if it is possible to make all my web pages in photoshop (even the text), save it as an html and upload it in dreamweaver. So I will pretty much only be using dreamweaver to link my pages and upload my website. Thanks.

You would have to slice it up in PS then import it to Dreamweaver

Agreed with the above posters, don't do everything in Photoshop as in the text, the pages will load slow because you would have to load all of the content as images, just design, slice, import to dreamweaver and you should be able to work on your site. Good luck.

There's nothing wrong with laying out the pages the way you want them to look in Photoshop (I've done it many times), but as the above posters said, you need to do the actual formatting in DreamWeaver. Doing it the way you suggest will not only make your pages big and clumsy, but a nightmare to edit later on if you want to change anything. My advice would be to spend a little extra time learning to use DreamWeaver now (it's really not that difficult). It will make your life much easier down the road.

    Cheers,
    Neil

i would also suggest that you spend some time on html and css

    go through this website www.w3schools.com

and then create your design in photoshop but dont put text as image.

put text as normal text html.

Personally, I find slicing to be overrated. If you organize your layers and use your anti aliasing properly you can usually get away with toggling layers and ctrl-shft-copy (to save flattening stuff you may want to edit later)
Be sure to use your layer fx, as they are non-destructive.
Creative use of css is a primary asset when it comes to web design, so be sure to think about how to optimize the images not only for size, but for flexibility when you choose to edit your site (ie:gif transparency and a background color attribute for the div, rather than a gif with a set bg color)

    EDIT: dreamweaver is also overrated.
EDIT.2: No, you cannot upload a psd to dreamweaver and have it translate everything in to a website... But that would be cool as hell.
