I started my proxy network over, I was doinging things wrong, I even found out how bad my host was.
My traffic had dropped to almost nothing and I've managed to bring it back overnight!
Sounds crazy but its true!

 

Most proxy sites get loads of DMCA's which is bad. Letters flying into the datacentre.

 

I have yet to get any DMCAs actually (which even I find kind of strange). I have sent my fair share though to copy-cats

 

Hahaha, I know some hosters who got many from gameservers. One threatned him that his will be going jail with his hosts.

DMCAs for what excactly. What do they complain about?

Where do you host your proxies? I try dedicated server but maybe because of low spec, my proxies are very slow.

Do you host your proxies on share hosting? VPS or Dedicated server?

When I talk about Smowtion, I am referring to banners, too. You are right in that Smowtion is compatible with other networks. Yet, they limit the numbers of ads to three.

So, for instance, placing 3 banners from Smowtion and a full page ad from Bright Hub would violate Smowtion TOS, I have checked that with my account executive.

On the other hand If somebody uses Adversal popups things are probably OK for Smotion as long as banners are limited to two. In any case I would check with them.

 

I started with Techentrance proxy hosting which is fine. Because of bandwitdth considerations I changed to vectro hosting, which I find slightly better. The number of proxies, resp. their footprint made me aquire a VPS then.

Currently VPS in the cloud is where the music plays for among other advantages they provide instant scalability.

one question, my dedicated server spec below is it too small for small proxies network?

10Mbit Unmeterred is a bottleneck; 100 is the minimum you need. The amount of RAM specified is above the minimal level, but I am not sure about the CPU.
