Best way to promote a blog

Yeah, but its not guaranteed traffic.

 

commenting on others blog seems like the best way for me lol

 

There are many ways to promote a blog. In my opinion social bookmarking is the very useful and the fastest method to increase the traffic. Forums and commenting on other blogs is also helps in increasing traffic.

There should be auto directory summiters. SEO tools I think they are.

With quality content, your blog is going to more or less promote itself. Put the reader/user #1 and the traffic will come. Obviously it won't come out of thin air, so you'll have to do what everyone here has suggested...but quality content is how your blog will explode. Anyone can get temporary traffic to their site, but to maintain, you need quality content that no one else has.

 

There are several ways...
1) Forums posting
2) Backlinks
3) Writing unique content
4) Social bookmarking (Stumbleupon, Digg etc)
5) Social Media (Facebook Pages etc):
By having a Facebook page for your blog, you can add your RSS feed so your new posts appear on your fan page. Facebook members can then become a “fan” of your posts and comment on your posts inside Facebook.
6) Send regular newsletter to your blog readers.

 

Howz the response directory submission.. are the results positive?

 

i think SEO can get you almost 70% promotion you can get, rest you can get through different mediums like social bookmarking sites, twitter,etc.
