Its possible and easy but just incase you forgot or something it will be just a big image until its coded etc..

File - Save for Web & Devices - Change any settings you want, defaults usually fine anyway - Save - Save as Type - HTML and Images (.html)

    Should be done now :)

There are some software that can do that, but the best way to go about is to learn coding and code it from scratch, on Adobe Dreamweaver or any other text editor.

It's always better to write HTML / CSS yourself, instead of just putting one big image. The main reason is the links. The second reason is SEO.
Third reason is impossibility of dynamically changing content (PHP / ASP / etc.)

Well there are quit a few slicing tools indeed:

    xhtmlchop dot com
    slicingpsdtohtml dot com
    niftyxhtml dot com

But best is indeed as gamepuls stated to write by hand.

Although there are many software solutions for getting the job done automatically, I make all my coding manually ( this way I know everything is perfect )
    PS: try site grinder 3

In my opinion, software is not the way to go. The first step to take when converting your psd design to a html/css one is to find out which parts of the site you need, and which parts you do not. For example, if you had a header on your site, select the slice tool (which is located in the crop tool section) and drag across the area of the header. Zoom in closely to get it just right. What you do not need is the text. You'll be adding that later on. For now, all you need is the images. Like stylized bullet points, pictures, ect. Again, make sure everything is just right. It will make the converting easier and less complicated. Then select File > Save For Web & Devices. Now, this is important. Photographs are best saved as a jpeg due to the amount of different shades of colour. A GIF format is better for logos as it is saved much more cleanly.

I would recommend checking out this series of videos on youtube, they are very clear and informative...
Damn, I still cannot post links. Okay, go to Youtube and type in exactly this 'how to slice and code photoshop psd template lesson 1'. Just watch all of those videos and you will get a better understanding of it :)
    Good luck,
    Ellie
