Hi guys I was wondering if it was a good idea to digg forum threads in order to increase traffic to your forums?

You could do that if it has some good content. Otherwise it will quickly get buried over.

If you think the content might be of interest to others, then you should digg it.

I have never seen a forum post hit the front page of Digg, ever. I've seen pictures of funny forum posts, but it really has to be a funny thread with some comical stuff in it. Otherwise, you may gain a few clicks of interest from Digg but generally no actual diggs.

This happened to me once back in 2006. A friend digged a project that I had made and posted on the forums where I hanged out quite a lot. It was a way to build a windows XP running under 16Mb.

Over the years this size kept on being reduced up to 8Mb but the digg effect on the forum post was remarkable.

I think it is very hard to get listed on diggs front page. I have never gotten anything on the front page.
