Starting an eCommerce book site

Discussion in 'eCommerce' started by bogartkick, Jan 1, 2010.

I have lots of used books in my room which were not used right now, and they are so-called "archives". I want to get rid of them as soon as possible. If I'm going to start an eCommerce website by selling my old textbooks which we used since our school years and some of them in the late 1970 or 80's I think, is it worth?

Will I get profit for selling old textbooks plus the shipping fees?

    Thanks! I need answers here.

    hmm its worth i think.
like an offline business, your ecommerce should make a profit for you.
that is back to your hard work to make your goal get real.

I would list them on ebay or amazon and sell it. Coz its not going to be a recurring selling for u. its just one off selling since its u r books..

    My 0.2 cents ;)

I think these products will have its specifical buyers so you should think over how to make a good advertisment for the appropriate customer. But it`s really worth I think:)

Yes , you can sell your books by creating the e-commerce website , do you looking any auction type sales ? If the books are very worth able you can sell it very easily. But you have to spend some money to build the site :)

To my opinion it's too big work to build website to sell your books, unless you will offer your website later to other people to sell their books as well.
Otherwise it is a good advice to list them on ebay or amazon.

It sounds like you are just selling some items around the house and to put up a site for that... you really need a bigger business idea. Too much work for such a small gain and then you need to get traffic to the site which takes some time and much effort.

Doubt it would be worth it.

You will probably get some profits but i'm not sure it's worth the effort
