My proxy is getting no traffic! Anyone know a good toplist to submit it to to get the most traffic?

Shared is possible rightaway, but VPS would need more planning.
Your sites won't be down unless you take them down :)
Anybody else interested in hosting their proxies on Xeon Quad Core CPUed 1000 Mbps NICed server with me (Fantastico included, CGI proxies not allowed)?
If other people besides Soldoni are interested I am going to make detailed plans, else we better discuss it in PM / MSN.

For anybody that is running on my hosting (I know several people who read this thread are), we're experiencing some kind of huge issue. I'm not exactly sure what's going on, and I have been spending the good part of the day trying to sort it out with my techs.

So far, I've had several services on my server fail, following by missing A records, and PHP not working. I thought I had it fixed this morning, but now it's as bad as ever. This is all being accompanied by timeouts and downtime.

I'm extremely sorry for the inconvenience, and thank god it's a weekend.

Thanks :) It's already been escalated to the third level of the Engineering department at my server host, and they still can't figure it out... Right now Apache and PHP are being upgraded to the very latest releases.

OK, the problem was solved (for now, will check back later).

Apparently, one of the proxies saturated the kernel, causing packets to be dropped.

Not that good. Many of those sites never approve submitted proxies.

I check analytics about a week later, see who is sending traffic and remove the links of the sites that aren't

Do you guys use popups on your proxys? or do you think it kills traffic?

    Thanks

As far as I can tell, confirmed by Smowtion numbers, pop-ups underperform depending on display rate. Moreover, they kill your traffic and thus negatively affect your earnings from the landing page (Adsense), too!

I've never used them. I feel that it would reduce traffic and repeat visitors. Annoying your website visitors is usually not a good thing.
