Looking to sell my eBook

Discussion in 'eCommerce' started by ryanrigney22, Jan 15, 2010.

I have never sold something that was my own online before. It's just a pdf ebook and I was wondering what is the best way to sell this to a small amount of people? Looking to avoid clickbank and those other places.

    Thanks

Well, i can tell you a better way all together. You can start an online bookstore and sell all the ebooks you make and other peoples and make big profits. If your interested then check out the site in my sig. Other than that.. make a blog or something pertaining to your ebook. Sell it in forums. You can think of something.

Put up a blog page to promote it and maybe include a Paypal function to pay for it and download immediately. It wouldn't take you long and wouldn't be very hard to do.

The professional way to sell a single downloadable item like an eBook is from a minisite. I have a complete plug and play minisite software called Instant Sales Site that takes 10 minutes to install, takes payment via PayPal IPN and automatically delivers the secure one-time download link by email to the customer. Once set up it is completely automatic and all you have to do after that is promote your site at blogs, forums and so on.

Just use PayPal Buy it Now buttons. E-Junkie is also another very good option - it cost only $5 a month, so its really cheap.

A particular word caught my eye - small amount of people...

So IMO you should first find a suitable way to promote your selling page, for which I would recommend a minisite as mentioned above or simple Wordpress e-commerce enabled blog.

    What is your e-book about?

You can setup your own mini website, blog page or buy and sell section of a forum and sell it there.

I use e-junkie.com - You can host 10 products with them for $5 per month and no contract.

Set up a nice professional sales page (okay - this is no easy task - to get a good one you usually have to hire a pro) and a squeeze page with an autoresponder. Collect visitors e-mails by offering them something of value in return. Construct a nice newsletter series - mine is a whole series of reports that supports the information in my book.

You might try setting up a contest - I'm getting ready to do my first for "Writer's Fast Track to Cash" here very soon. It's nice if people read your book and, if they like it, they can write you a nice testimonial.

I have a free e-book about how to write and publish an e-book, if you're interested. I know you already did the writing part, but it details the rest - like making a graphic and that sort of thing...

Go to: www.writersfasttrack.com - It's called the "Quick Start/Quick Finish Guide to Writing and Publishing an E-book" - or something like that. It's a one way to get 'er done approach. It will have some info. you can use in it, if you are still at this stage... after that, you get a series of reports on copywriting and how to get into your customers' heads. It will help you with formulating your sales page - although, when you get the funds you should get a pro. Not all good writers are good copywriters - it's two different worlds.
