It was actually a pretty nice read and I was a bit wary about using Twitter following tools but have decided to give it a go and I am adding like a 1,000 a day and then using tools to un-follow those not following me, it's been working good so far but I'm getting a load of spam bots following me.

 

LOL I tried it for 2 days and got suspended!

These methods work, but you can't come off as a spammer

 

How many people do you recommend I follow and unfollow each day?

 

to start I would keep it under 500
even now, I rarely follow more then 500 a day, when I know I could follow 1,000 if I wanted to.

 

Alright I'm going to do this:

- Follow 500 ( my program I use has a sleep time which I can set to wait a few mins before adding more people so I will set that at around a minute )
- Wait 3 days and then unfollow all those who are using the default avatar and haven't said anything in a week and then follow another 500.
- Repeat

Lets see how that works

 

I try to hold off unfollowing ppl a week or more
the reason is, some of the ppl that will follow you back, don't check their accounts every day. A week gives them time to follow you back.

Ok, I'm going to wait a week, I see most of the people are spam bots so I will get rid of them first. Next time instead of following people who follow a certain account I'm going to follow people whos tweets contain a certain keyword as I think I will get less spam accounts that way.

 

Another tip, not sure if I've mentioned it
you can follow 10% more then those following you.
so if you have 2000 ppl following you, you can follow 2200
So what I do when I'm getting less then 500 person window, ill just follow 50 or so a day until I just have to unfollow people to get more room.
I'll also follow people that follow some bigger names.. Like Rob Bloggeries is one of the people on Twitter that I follow his followers.
I have about 12 profiles I rotate around on as to who I follow.

Alright I tried it for like a week and have now decided to abandon auto-following completely and focus on building it up manually by sharing good info and interacting with others. Why? Because I just ended up following loads of spam accounts and not getting good traffic, it might work for some but auto-following didn't work for me.

 

Hows that working for you in the week of manually adding?
