what are the other Social Media Networks that you are using?

    Hi guys,

Correct me if I am wrong but I guess if not all, mostly of us here in DP are using Facebook and Twitter. So, my question is aside from these two, what are the other Social Media Networks that you are using? Do you use them more or less than these two mentioned above?

I would like to hear your social media professional opinion about this please.

It really depends on what your interests are. In today's world, it's become the de facto standard that everyone have a Facebook and Twitter account to participate in the social media sphere.

But you can also go above and beyond that - depending on your interests and/or time committment. If you like to write, have something interesting to share, or want your opinion to be known, start a blog - you can use a blogging service like Posterous. Don't go for other blogging platforms like Wordpress, Blogger or TypePad, because Posterous can match their features, and offers much more for the user - cutting-edge vector image based colours and graphics, and a cool new blogging platform that reduces the hassle on the part of the blogger. Where else can I expect to simply upload images, video, podcasts or documents to an email and then have them embed it for me?

Also, if you're into sharing bookmarks and things that you find interesting, sign up for StumbleUpon, Reddit, Digg or Delicious, which allow you dabble in social bookmarking. And if you like making and sharing videos and photos, use Youtube and Flickr respectively.

If you need more social media advice, check out Mashable.com, - they're probably one the best social media guides out there on the internet (their articles collectively grouped together constitute an ad hoc social media bible of sorts).

    Hope this helps. Cheers :D

Hello ssukhdeep, if I were you, make a new thread concerning this so that many DP members could help you as well.

Anyway, here are some of the ways that help your site create inbound links or back links:

    social bookmarking and networking
    classified ads
    press release
    online groups
    article and directory submissions
    blog commenting
    forum posting

In addition, do the On-Page SEO Checklist and Off-Page SEO Checklist.

    Hope this helps.

I find LinkedIn as a very useful professional networking site too for it strengthens and extends your existing network of trusted contacts.

For me its Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter....and nuthhin else.
I believe that instead of creating profile in many social networking sites and visiting them once in a while....choose just 3-4 and update them regularly.

Yeah, you are correct. Well, if you can’t just update them regularly, then they are just useless and completely a waste of time. Just my thoughts.

Digg used to bring in a lot of traffic, but the whole system is gamed now so it's not really worth trying. I get a lot from StumbleUpon, and some lesser-known social networks like Propeller and Mixx.
