Joomla virtue-mart is good to use. Every cart has some advantage and disadvantages but it depends on your requirements. If it fits into your requirements then don't look around just keep continue with Joomla VM.

Joomla with Virtuemart IS a good ecommerce solution despite being a huge & somewhat complicated solution for the beginner. In a manner of speaking, it depends on your personal requirements...not to mention tastes... as to whether you think it is the right setup for you. There are many, many features available in Virtuemart whilst if you are looking for a simple solution maybe a more basic solution would be better suited. This is not to say that all the features have to be utilised... it is possible to simply set up the features you desire. The advantage of this method is you can expand the features as your site grows without having completely change your solution.

Every different PHP framework supports ecommerce and good to use for shopping cart. There is very little difference in every case. Before we choose a good ecommerce option we have to know that how much user friendly is it. In that sence i think "joomla virtuemart" is a good option and immediate after this which comes into my mind is magento ecommerce application. Anybody can try this also. This is having a lots of features also. But from the SEO point of view i would prefer "joomla virtuemart".

    Thank you
